to think Beyonce isn't a great dancer?

DD is in a play where her and a few friends do a dance routine to Beyonce's 'Crazy in Love'.

I'm not a fan of Beyonce on many levels and I just don't get why lots of people talk up what a great dancer she is. Perhaps the choreography she's consistently had isn't great but am I missing something?

She seems very heavy footed to me with very little grace and fluidity. All she seems to do is shrug her shoulders up and down, booty pop and whip her head around from side to side.

DD is constantly going on about what a great dancer Beyonce is but I just can't see it. I did dance for many years but I'm no expert so maybe I am missing something.

I'm not really bothered about Beyonce either way. I however detest the beyhive and how if she's critiqued online flocks of the beyhive come buzzing to her defence.

I don't think she does pop music anymore, she's far to sexual in her lyrics and dancing and I couldn't quite believe the watermelon bit where she basically had the whole world singing about sucking Jay zs dick.

I also wonder if that's her now. She looks dead on the inside and the way her sister flew into Jay Z and she just stood by in her own little world in the lift was pretty scary.

Brandnewandimproved if I were Beyoncé and wearing a borrowed dress of that amount I would not get in fight. If am right jay z and Beyoncé's sister have never got on. I remember when he did an interview and called her a wannabe gang star. And something a long the lines of she wants to be so hood and always picking up fights.

on serious note. If jay z had retaliated the news would have been different and I think his career would have been down the drain.

I agree with what was said about some of the songs on the new album. I have a love hate relationship with it.

Yabu. I think she's a fantastic dancer. And even if you don't - why start a thread on it? I agree with the poster who said that women with self belief threaten some people, and I'd add that a black woman with self belief is even more offensive in some quarters

Buttonmoon I think it was wrong for Kanye to generalise that bush hates black people solely on how America is run or the racism in their country.

Ok, we all agree on the part he played for the war in Iraq and also ignoring the people of New Orleans. But one of his biggest achievements was the amount of work he put in to fight HIV in east Africa especially Uganda. The level of HIV went from 15% to about 8% years ago when i did one of my coursework.

Am not in anyway or form supporting bush but just making point.

I want to like Beyonce... but I don't. For me, she's just far too media aware of the Beyoncé brand in the first instance rather than letting her obvious talent shine. It all then comes across as being commercialised and money driven rather than for her art.

Bit meh on the dancing to be honest. Loved Single Ladies but did not care for the one where she's writhing on a beach at night.

As awesome and talented as she is,let's be real and call a spade a spade,as her dancing isn't even on the same level as Justin Timberlake and Nicole Scherzinger,as they objectively have more proficiency bringing it down to the floor,are capable of more explosive trickery and showcase more complicated and original routines. Some have even argued that Kelly Rowland and the late great Aaliyah edged her at overall technique and inventive,complex choreographies. But she still sings and performs better than 99% of the world,and can still put the average amatuer dancer to shame

Totally agree OP. I think she's extremely overrated. Her performances are showy but not particularly entertaining to me.
The whole 'Queen B' thing is like a cult.

She's absolutely not a great technical dancer, but she does her thing and does it well.

Whoever said the Single Ladies dance is difficult- if that were true then millions of teenagers wouldn't have been able to copy it online. Dances go viral because they are easy to replicate.

I have admiration for what Bey has achieved in her life, on her own, as a woman. Hands down that’s amazing and I wouldn’t take it away from her. I wouldn’t pay to go to a concert but I have no bad feelings about what she does

But JLo I feel really differently about. I won’t go too far into it but cannot listen to anything she ever does

Truth be told,I was just Googling best dancers in the industry and comparing them in the search engine by typing in,say,Beyonce vs Ciara vs J.Lo,etc. and also searched if she is an great dancer and this thread popped up in the results and since I have an account here,decided to post that comment, sorry if it seems arbitrary and random,or anything like that. Furthermore, even though she isn't the most talented, proficient dancer in the industry, I understand that still an overall great dancer and is still highly talented and made all,or at least most of her endeavors happen due to sheer dedication and aptitudes.
