For thinking taking photos at a funeral is weird

Seriously. Today on my FB page two seperate individuals have been to a funeral. I know this because both have posted posed photos of themselves dressed in black at cemeteries. There's an "arty" photo of a single flower on someone's knee. Last year, an acquaintance of mine sadly suffered the death of her young child. A horrific experience I have no doubt. Why then post posed pictures of yourself/others standing near the coffin?!

I just find it in really poor taste. I'm fortunate enough to not have been to too many funerals in my life but have never dreamed of taking photos!

Am I unreasonable or is this strange?

It makes me sad that people might judge me for sharing photos on FB of my boys holding their dad's football flowers at his wake.

I can't really explain why I did it. Football was so important to them, he would have loved the flowers. My boys were proud of them, thinking their dad would be proud of them for picking them. On one photo they were smiling, people commented how nice it was to see them smile, even on such a horrid day.

I also shared the beautiful photos I took of them with their dad just days before he died. We knew they would be the last photos, they were very emotional but beautiful photos and I shared them too. Most people thanked me for sharing them as they touched many people.

I think most people just do what they do to get through. Did it help me to share the photos? It did actually.

Whatever felt right to you is all that mattered. Sorry for your loss.

One of my best photos ever was taken by my midwife at my home birth. I am standing up knees slightly bent, almost naked and the head and shoulders of my son are half out of my vagina. In the background I am also doing a poo

If you didn't post it on facebook, it doesn't count. You need to validate it with likes. Grin
