To wonder why weather presenters seem to wear evening wear to present the weather?

Mainly local ones. Current one has a nifty lace and black number. One yesterday on the national new had a black one with a completely sheer yoke and no bra.

Being a person with no life I wonder about this every single day. they seem to confuse formal and evening wear.

We always joke that they're en route to a wedding.
Our local weatherman (Paul the Weatherman) always wears lovely shirts, but could do with a bigger size, which I find irritating.

Think you must be in the same area as me. We get Paul the weatherman too!

I've often had the same thought about news and weather presenters. Often everything is too short, too tight and too sparkly to look professional.

I must be getting old...

We have Paul and his shirts too! Harry is my absolute favourite though (even though he's not a weatherman).

I'm wondering if you live in my area as I have noticed this, some nice things but just a bit too glittery. The presenters on the local news also and not just weather presenters maybe they are all off out for cocktails after?

I often comment what the fs is she wearing, often look as though they have come from round the back of the bar just to read the weather, think Christmas Day at the Rovers some 20 years ago!

It seems to be a local thing. Carol Kirkwood from BbC morning show usually get it right.

We get Paul the weather man.

We also noticed they are all dressed up.

But we comment more on the funky chicken stance they have all adopted in recent years.

Perhaps it's just us brassy northerners then?

The thread has left me feeling ostracised because I don't know Paul the weatherman :(

Our weatherlady wore odd clothes but she's gone yo have a baby now and they've replaced her with someone who looks like my friend

I get East Midlands Today-our news readers and weather presenters are sparkly too!

In NI there is Cecilia Daly, who paddles her own style canoe against a tide of bland weather wear. She's partial to a crop with a quiff and even has a tattoo.
