Today he has, dug potatoes and carrots for 5 people out of the garden, washed peeled and chopped them (for tomorrows tea), been to visit his mother, cooked tonight's tea and washed up (I prepared it) and will walk the dog at 9 tonight

Actually, writing it down it looks ok, but he will have spent about 7 hours watching tv by the time he goes to bed tonight, that's what pisses me off

AIBU?

Your ability to drip feed is insane! Seriously, you have a real talent for it.

Taken the dog for a walk yet?

TurnOffTheTv · 09/11/2015 21:05

I was shouting because it's taking you pages and pages of drip feeding, when you could have quite easily say
'I think my DH is being a lazy bastard, we've tons of stuff that needs doing, or I need help with, but he's watch TV for seven hours'

Instead of saying what he had done and everyone disagreeing with you.

amazingtracy · 09/11/2015 21:14

Is the OP talking about her dog or her husband now?

My Cat started plumbing in the shower TWO YEARS AGO and it still not finished!!! The hamster can't start tiling until it's finished. [mad]

Candleabras · 09/11/2015 22:00

I wasn't drip feeding i dont think, all I asked was whose husband had done less than mine yesterday, end of. I've been badgered into giving out far more information than I wanted to, that wasn't what my post was asking for. You lot just have an insatiable appetite for dirt. Satisfied now?

OP posts:
Candleabras · 09/11/2015 22:00

Dh has just come back with the dog, but thanks for asking

PaulAnkaTheDog · 09/11/2015 22:08

Hahahaha! You don't think you were drip feeding? Your thread is the best example I have ever seen as an example of drip feeding.

Also, you didn't ask who's husbands had done less. That was your title. You asked in your post whether you were unreasonable by being annoyed. Backstory was relevant.

MrRobot · 09/11/2015 22:11

Drip, drip, drip.

PaulAnkaTheDog · 09/11/2015 22:13

(too many 'examples' in my sentence Blush)

NoSquirrels · 09/11/2015 22:13

candleabras probably not funny to you, but this thread has made me properly LOL.

Give him a list, starting with the tumble drier and working backwards.
Get some electricians in for a quote.
Figure out how much you need to save, then start saving.

lorelei9 · 09/11/2015 22:13

No one wanted "dirt"
There was just general bafflement because he did loads!u

amazingtracy · 09/11/2015 22:14

Do you realise that you haven't given a reason as to why you don't do any of these jobs yourself?
This is what I find bizarre. By your omission, I assume that you don't work- your children are old enough to look after themselves. What is stopping you from doing at least some of the jobs you listed?
I am one of many of the women here that has no problem using a drill/hammer/paintbrush.
You both did sod all on Sunday.

PaulAnkaTheDog · 09/11/2015 22:16

OP does work. It only took until tonight for her to say that though Hmm. I do think that she perhaps views herself as a laydeee. Laydeeeeees don't do diy, that's for big strapping men folk.

shutupanddance · 09/11/2015 22:18

Op you should have explained instead of dripping. Has he got a drink problem?

PaulAnkaTheDog · 09/11/2015 22:19

shutupanddance EH?!?!?!

MrRobot · 09/11/2015 22:20

Well that question came out of nowhere.

PaulAnkaTheDog · 09/11/2015 22:21

Oh wait the 'over the limit' comment. Given the op said late activities and hasn't yet mentioned any problem with alcohol, I'd been giving her op the benefit of the doubt for not wanting to drive after a glass of wine.

FluffyPingPong · 09/11/2015 22:21

You started a thread asking if anyone's husbands had done less than yours surely not?!
...alas, you had many replies stating everyone's daily activities... some of which were far more than your husbands, and some of which were far less.
At the end of the day, what anybody else did with their day is completely irrelevant!
And if you were happy with your DH then you wouldn't care that he had watched tv for 7 hours - that is not the issue. The issue is that you have loads of stuff around the house that needs doing and your husband is being lazy when you would like him to do it. If you had simply stated this in the original thread then you would have had support and agreement, but this drip feed has just made us all feel sorry for your dog instead.

Seeyounearertime · 09/11/2015 22:25

Laydeeeeees don't do diy

No they just moan about their OHs NOT doing it instead.
Grin

Kewcumber · 09/11/2015 22:25

Poor dog.

Bettercallsaul1 · 09/11/2015 22:25

Has he got a drink problem?

The poor guy! Grin Not only has he been painted chronically lazy and workshy - he's now a dipsomaniac too!

Candleabras · 09/11/2015 22:25

How many of you can fix a tumble drier, put up decking, use a stihl saw and an angle grinder and a spirit level? Who can use the dh's Black and Decker work bench? I'm obviously in the company of multitasking superwomen.

OP posts:
AliceInUnderpants · 09/11/2015 22:30

In other words, you think your husband is fucking lazy. Why not just say that?
Or do the damn stuff yourself.

RB68 · 09/11/2015 22:31

I might struggle with the tumble dryer but the others are OK, I am sure you have other talents...

PaulAnkaTheDog · 09/11/2015 22:34

Seriously woman, get out of the dark ages. If your accountant husband is qualified to do this stuff, then you sure as hell are as well.

kungfupannda · 09/11/2015 22:36

Yes, the tumble dryer is out for me, but the other things are fairly straightforward. Time-consuming, maybe, but perfectly do-able.

Also, the Black and Decker work bench in our household is mine, not DP's!
