Why?

Just picked up one of the ones I regularly buy and have noticed it now has MEN written upon it.

This has annoyed my two fold

  1. if it's Radox MEN is it only to be used by Men in a bath rather than a man. It will be cramped.

  2. it's bubble bath ..... It doesn't need gender assigning. It never has before. Radox are being twats.

Anyway, I'm in it now. My ovaries haven't fallen out and I've not been arrested by the bath police but

AIBU not to buy Radox again until they stop being silly?

They've not expanded anything they've just slapped MEN on a product that's existed for years.

Fuck it, if it's not and issue I shall expand their product range further for them.

Shock

Now we see where this thoughtless genderisation of products will lead. Radox must be stopped.

southeastastra · 25/10/2015 14:49

there are loads of products just for MEN what's the fuss?

HoneyDragon · 25/10/2015 15:33

You know I'm fond of you right?

But I'm going to have to kill you now.

IT WASN'T A BLOODY MEN PRODUCT FOR YEARS AND YEARS BUT NOW THEY'VE DECIDED IT WILL BE ......aaaaaaaaaaaaargh.

I just checked my always ultra. It does not specify they are just for women. Better warn DH not to wrap one round his cock by accident.

Good point about the hook on bloke's shower gel as well.

At the end of the day, does anyone actually smell of shower gel for more than 10 minutes after their shower? So generally, as long as the gel doesn't smell of arse crack I don't really mind

UncertainSmile · 25/10/2015 19:47

Yes it does Uncertain. You just have to get the right kind of hook for the wang. Try different brands and you'll soon find a hanger for all the todgers that you come into contact with on a daily basis.

It doesn't. I've tried it. The only one I come into contact with is mine really.

southeastastra · 25/10/2015 20:01

;D sorry

WMittens · 26/10/2015 11:20

They've taken an existing non gendered product and suddenly declared it 'For Men'

Imagine is this spreads...

So coffee is a only mans drink

Or

Brie .... FOR MEN

ITS STUPID AND SILLY AND RADOX ARE WRONG.

It's marketing - do these little tricks still surprise you?

Radox noticed they weren't selling a lot of bubble bath to men. It may have been the pink "Feel Blissful with calendula* and rose" that wasn't really getting in touch with men's bathing needs. They thought, "hmm, there's a whole untapped market here? How do we get money from men, instead of just getting money off women? It would be great, we'd have more money!"

So they probably had some brainstorm (or whatever the term is now) sessions with lots of out-of-the-box blue sky thinking, came up with some ideas, held a couple of focus groups, the results being the men in those focus groups said, "yeah I'd probably buy it, now and again. Whatever. Where's the free tea and biscuits?"

If a company noticed they weren't selling a lot of brie to men, then yes there probably would be a "men's" brie product and marketing campaign. Any commercially-driven venture wants to make as much money as possible and one way to do that is to sell to as many people as possible. If a particular market is not being exploited, they're going to expand into it.

*WTF is calendula?

HoneyDragon · 26/10/2015 18:27

I'm sorry but when do pissed off and surprised mean the same thing?
