Radox have randomly made Man bubble bath ...wtaf?

HoneyDragon · 22/10/2015 18:41

Why?

Just picked up one of the ones I regularly buy and have noticed it now has MEN written upon it.

This has annoyed my two fold

  1. if it's Radox MEN is it only to be used by Men in a bath rather than a man. It will be cramped.

  2. it's bubble bath ..... It doesn't need gender assigning. It never has before. Radox are being twats.

Anyway, I'm in it now. My ovaries haven't fallen out and I've not been arrested by the bath police but

AIBU not to buy Radox again until they stop being silly?

Oh god. The insisting on distinguishing between male and female stuff is creeping up the age ranges. No wonder my young friend keeps banging on that I'm gender nonbinary. Actually I feel entirely female & don't wear heels or makeup and happen to think that doesn't prevent me being female (and I think is thus belittling the emotional turbulence of genuinely not being comfortable with 'who' you are).
Advertising people need to be guided gently towards the exit.

EduCated · 23/10/2015 08:32

Every so often DP had a wobble when we're in the shower aisle looking at all the nice shower gels and gets the men's one rather than the sort he usually likes.

Usually he smells like a fucking mango Hmm I usually prefer the 'manly' scents for me. It's all nonsense.

VikingVolva · 23/10/2015 08:37

Maybe they need two versions?

Men - for menstruation (magic cramp healer included)

Men powerful - for the menopausal, who wear purple

MrsJayy · 23/10/2015 08:40

Maybe man bubbles are industrial cleansing for manly skin ladies cant use it obviously or we will melt.

Ethelswith · 23/10/2015 08:40

"Do they still make Badedas?"

Yes, but you don't get a hairy-chested man in a white horse outside your bathroom window anymore.

I got the (astonishingly expensive) Aqua Manda revival collection a couple of years ago. Just what I got my DSis for Christmas some 40 years ago. She was so excited she squeaked.

MrsJayy · 23/10/2015 08:42

Dh prefers soap so i use all his shower gels he gets for christmas i waft about smelling all manly.

RJnomaaaaaargh · 23/10/2015 08:47

Well I don't know about gender scents but I get pretty pissed when dh uses my good Milton brown pink pepper pod rather than buy more original source.

EduCated · 23/10/2015 08:51

I'm just waiting for the day that Colgate bring out ColGATOR for MEN, with pictures of shiny toothed alligators all over it, for manly men's gnashers.

Sparklingbrook · 23/10/2015 09:26

Ethels my dad went to a posh hotel on a course and he brought some of the bathroom toiletries back and there were a couple of sachets of Badedas. It was in the 70s, so thought it was that era. I will have to have a look for some now. Grin

UterusUterusGhali · 23/10/2015 09:33

Waitrose black pepper stuff smells similar to Badedas I think, and it's a quid.

MoriartyIsMyAngel · 23/10/2015 09:49

Ooh, I'll look out for the Waitrose one!

Actually, I love the orange Lynx shower gel. I think it's dragon fruit. A YouTuber I used to watch raved about it, and she was right, it's a very peppy ready-for-the-morning scent - and if my colleagues think I had to use a man's shower gel and have a more interesting life than I actually do, so much the better!

MrsJayy · 23/10/2015 09:58

Yeah orange lynx is lovely so is nivea for me you dont smell luxurious but clean men bubbles have very simple wording lady bubbles is all luxurious and soothing Hmm

MrsJayy · 23/10/2015 09:59

For men* also women need to hqve nourished skin

Owllady · 23/10/2015 10:01

It never occurred to me before that men could use ladies hair dyeâ„¢ Blush

iamaboveandBeyond · 23/10/2015 10:09

Me and dh both use just soap. Clearly both gender non-binary here.

iamaboveandBeyond · 23/10/2015 10:10

Til they gender-ise soap, of course

HoneyDragon · 23/10/2015 12:41

For those that don't see the issue I repeat:

They've taken an existing non gendered product and suddenly declared it 'For Men'

Imagine is this spreads...

So coffee is a only mans drink

Or

Brie .... FOR MEN

ITS STUPID AND SILLY AND RADOX ARE WRONG.

VikingVolva · 23/10/2015 12:43

"Til they gender-ise soap, of course"

This already exists

And which brings a whole new meaning to pump action soap dispenser.

TheOriginalWinkly · 23/10/2015 12:53

Genderisation of non-gender specific products, by which I mean almost everything except tampons/towels/moon cups and certain items of clothing, is ridiculous and should be stopped. What next? Willy shaped man pasta and vulva shaped woman pasta? Two trips to the supermarket because I need to go to ManTesco (red and blue logo) and Girl Tesco (pink and lilac logo?)

I only like citrussy bath products. Lemon lime or orange. Are these man or woman smells?

I can't wear high heels - less of a woman - due to lingering SPD from pregnancy - which is quite a Womanly ailment. The irony Hmm

jeanmiguelfangio · 23/10/2015 13:05

DH uses the man orignal source mint, he says it makes him feel like he has new balls. Apparently the non gender specific isnt tingly enough. Hmm
He also doesnt like "fruity" scents, he wants to smell like a man!! Seriously he is a marketing dream!
My stepdad is the same, he likes them to smell of pine, and thats about it. My mum and I love finding the worse smelling shower gel for him.
Yankee do man candles now, they smell of chrome and aftershave and all that. Because men need men candles.

MazzleDazzle · 23/10/2015 13:10

In this day and age? Really? Though don't know why m surprised as Yankee candle now do man candles: Camouflage, Barbershop, On Tap, Riding Mower, Man Town, 2x4 and Mmm Bacon.

I kid you not.

MazzleDazzle · 23/10/2015 13:11

I'm

iamaboveandBeyond · 23/10/2015 14:28

Sorry winkly...

MrsJayy · 23/10/2015 14:44

Man candles ?.MAN CANDLESConfused

lorelei9 · 23/10/2015 15:26

This thread is hysterical
I thought one Radox product had been discontinued but then I found out it was in the men's section.

Throughthickandthin, do you feel your sons would have been less inclined to shower if the bottle didn't say "for men"?!
