Why?

Just picked up one of the ones I regularly buy and have noticed it now has MEN written upon it.

This has annoyed my two fold

  1. if it's Radox MEN is it only to be used by Men in a bath rather than a man. It will be cramped.

  2. it's bubble bath ..... It doesn't need gender assigning. It never has before. Radox are being twats.

Anyway, I'm in it now. My ovaries haven't fallen out and I've not been arrested by the bath police but

AIBU not to buy Radox again until they stop being silly?

I think we are supposed to tuck it under our tits Uterusuterus

Yes men can get cystitis Crisps- often after things like catheterisation. Less likely from manly bath smellies though.

ToadsJustFellFromTheSky · 22/10/2015 21:48

I accidentally bought the man version not long ago. I didn't even realise it was the man version until my mum came for a visit and pointed it out. She seemed to find it very amusing for some reason Confused.

It's just like any other radox. I can't figure out what's so "manly" about it.

NewLife4Me · 22/10/2015 21:51

My dh has this stuff, I don't like it though and it smells horrible on me.
Can't say as it bothers me tbh.
They obviously think that women normally buy bubble bath so making it smell of black pepper and stuff it will appeal to men too.
They are trying to sell their products.

BertieBotts · 22/10/2015 21:55

Well I was thinking about perfumes the other day, right. Because perfumes are supposed to mimic pheremones so that we find them sexy. Which makes sense. So the pheremones it's mimicking really ought to match the sex of the person wearing it, that's logical. But the actual scents they use over the top or alongside, it's just marketing, isn't it? Somebody decided that sandalwood and leather and tobacco are manly and floral and fruit are feminine. And we just believe it now. So you'd never get one which was, say, lavender AND leather. But why? Confused

There has been separate men's and ladies' shower gel for ages (again for no reason) but bath stuff... it's just odd.

The handle thing is bizarre.

HackerFucker22 · 22/10/2015 22:00

Radox have a men's shower gel. I fail to get her up about it. It's just marketing for those who need it. I buy it for he adults if it's on offer. If not I buy what is. Even if it's in a 'girly' bottle.

HackerFucker22 · 22/10/2015 22:01

My post doesn't make a word of sense lol.

BSites · 22/10/2015 22:02

It's a willy hook.

Janeymoo50 · 22/10/2015 22:07

I bought one by mistake the other week, a red one, smells divine. I'm keeping it as I can blame my ever thickening upper lip hair growth on it.

BertieBotts · 22/10/2015 22:09

Having just looked at their website, it's the shower gels which have hooks, not the bath stuff. But you're right - only on the men's ones and the "refresh" ones. Confused

I suppose because men are supposed to have fast showers, at the gym, where they can hang their gel securely on the rustic metal bar and be done, and they CERTAINLY don't want to risk bending over in a communal shower, whereas women can freely take hours to condition their long blonde hair and it doesn't matter if they have to bend over to pick up their shower gel, because women have beautiful shapely bottoms, and anyway they shower at home. Or have baths, nice, long, leisurely baths.

HoneyDragon · 22/10/2015 22:10

I've got Radox Mandarin shower gel with a hook, it was purchased on a whim as theOriginal Source stuff had half the range missing.... Now explained its buggered off to be for men.

I like the minty Original Source, it makes your bits tingle.

The red muscle soak one? I love it, not sure why they branded it as a mans one, I'll carry on using it anyway!!Grin

UterusUterusGhali · 22/10/2015 22:14

The bloke's stuff is POWERFUL and smells PUNCHY.

Clean? Clean is for the gays. Men need to feel POWERFUL.

ToadsJustFellFromTheSky · 22/10/2015 22:19

The one I have isn't a red one. I think it's purple but I'll have to check.

OddSocksHighHeels · 22/10/2015 22:19

So us ladies aren't meant to smell of caffeine or tobacco? I must smell like a man then. I haven't turned into one yet.

MoriartyIsMyAngel · 22/10/2015 22:21

Do sales of a product ever increase once they suggest that over 50% of the population shouldn't buy it?

Weirdly, it worked on me. I used to love Yorkie as a kid, but I think all the 'Just For Men' advertising seeped into my brain over the years and I realized I automatically skip over it these days when I'm buying chocolate for the family.

Fixitwithwine · 22/10/2015 22:24

I use red one for morning baths and purple one for nighttime baths. God im odd! Smile

frankie001 · 22/10/2015 22:25

This does remind me of my ex, who hated all my girly soaps and shampoos in the bathroom. He used a bottle of shampoo all over. I had bought the tea tree oil shampoo, so a lot more concentrated than the shower gel. Gave his a delicate tingle on his hair, but was a bit more extreme in other places.

UterusUterusGhali · 22/10/2015 22:26

Oh, no, Fix. I use different flavours for morning and before bed. :)

Fixitwithwine · 22/10/2015 22:36

Phew not just me then Wink

UncertainSmile · 22/10/2015 22:36

Pfft, I'm a man and I always use Badedas

MoriartyIsMyAngel · 22/10/2015 22:43

I use Badedas too, but my last bottle didn't smell as nice as usual. I'm hoping it was just an off one. If they're 'improved' the formula I'll cry!

x2boys · 23/10/2015 06:56

But they have always had male shower gels etc not sure what the problem is ?i use whatever we have and dh deodrant if i cant find mine

Sparklingbrook · 23/10/2015 07:01

Do they still make Badedas?Shock Thought it was from the 70s like Old Spice/Brut.

Spidertracker · 23/10/2015 07:21

I like that things are labelled for men.
It means I can just pick one up knowing that if I use it I will smell clean and not flowery or fruity.
Interestingly DH won't use anything labelled for men as he says they are too harsh for his skin and only likes things that claim to be moisturising.

TheCunnyFunt · 23/10/2015 07:56

I really wanted to question them on this but they don't have Twitter, they don't seem to answer any queries on their Facebook page and there's no email address (that I can see) on their website Halloween Hmm
