conflict us starting up again. I cannot bear another round of children being killed indiscriminately. The super powers would have you believe that it is all oh so very complicated. its not though is it. It is so bloody unfair how those children will keep dying if the status quo is maintained. Something needs to change.

Who gave the UN authority? colonial nations deciding that another colonial state was a good idea shocking.

Israelis are an occupying force to, other formally colonised nations recognise Israel for what it is including Nelson Mandela.

hampsterdam · 16/10/2015 11:48

There's still a war. The Palestinians are losing. They will keep losing until there's nothing left. Is that ok?

Shakshuka · 16/10/2015 11:49

Israel is colonized by whom? Israelis?
Or my family who has lved in the land of Israel for more than 10 generations and were ethnically cleansed by arabs from their home in Hebron?

QuintShhhhhh · 16/10/2015 11:49

"Any Israeli can just go and take a persons home away. They can literally throw a Palestinian family out and claim the land. This has been happening for decades"

My friend is currently an international observer in an area where this is happening. I am concerned about her because she has not communicated for a week, and "her" area is one of great unrest at the moment. The last I heard from her was in an email where she asked me if I had any idea why their web mail provider would block sending newsletters and reports out...

I had an idea, but I could not really write that to her....

So how much current information are we really getting about what is happening in remoter areas?

Shakshuka · 16/10/2015 11:50

No, they'll keep losing if they don't stop the violence and agree a peace deal such as those they rejected under Barak and Olmert.

Shakshuka · 16/10/2015 11:51

Any Israeli can just go and take a persons home away. They can literally throw a Palestinian family out and claim the land. This has been happening for decades"

No they can't. Outright lie.

cleanmachine · 16/10/2015 11:51

In fact I've seen videos of a few women being shot at point blank by the IDF in the last few weeks including a 15 year old girl. I'm not going to link. You can Google them yourself.

Videos like these mean the actions of the IDF and settlers no longer remain hidden and the narrative of 'she was trying to stab jews!!!!' can be refuted.

Some Settlers and idf are so rampaging and demented they are even killing Jewish people now.

hampsterdam · 16/10/2015 11:53

So they lay down and wait for isrealis to vote someone in that will offer a peace deal. There's no peace on offer now.

nonnomnom · 16/10/2015 11:53

"nonnom if you are occupying a country you are not peaceful."

xx - They're not occupying a country. They are living in a country that is accepted as theirs by international law. These are not settlers on territory that is disputed.

By the same definition, YOU are not peaceful. As Britain occupies lots of disputed territory. So it's OK if someone comes and attacks members of your family with an axe tomorrow then, is it?

Don't be ridiculous. They were waiting for a bus/on a bus. What is not peaceful about that?

You are part of the problem, not the solution, justifying the murder of innocent civilians. You should be ashamed of yourself.

Shakshuka · 16/10/2015 11:54

In fact I've seen videos of a few women being shot at point blank by the IDF in the last few weeks including a 15 year old girl

Probably footage taken from Syria

Shakshuka · 16/10/2015 11:55

No peace of offer now, that's true and very sad.

But there was and they rejected it, again and again and again.

Not sure where we go from here.

QuintShhhhhh · 16/10/2015 11:55

"No they can't. Outright lie." Saying that they dont is an outright lie.

hampsterdam · 16/10/2015 11:56

Non the territories are disputed and east Jerusalem is occupied.

Shakshuka · 16/10/2015 11:58

I was in Israel just a couple of days ago, it doesn't happen

The idea that any Israeli (presumably you mean Jewish Israeli) can just evict Palestinians is risible. Actually it's totally bonkers and clearly someone has been swallowing Palestinian propaganda hook, line and sinker.

cleanmachine · 16/10/2015 11:58

Shak - erm, no not Syria. I can recognise the IDF uniform to know who was shooting thanks.

nonnomnom · 16/10/2015 11:58

cleanmachine - you can't link to any reputable site BECAUSE IT'S NOT ON ANY REPUTABLE SITE.

Or you would.

Why do you think it is not on any reputable site??

Maybe because their standards of evidence are somewhat higher than your extreme gullibility and willingness to hate?

If it is true - prove it. Then I will condemn it in the strongest possible terms. In the absence of that, I have no choice but to assume you're making it up. Why, I don't know, as it weakens your argument when you make false claims.

Shakshuka · 16/10/2015 11:59

Actually the territoires are occupied and East jerusalem is disputed (Israeli law applies in all of East Jerusalem, it's been annexed).

Shakshuka · 16/10/2015 12:01

Easy to photoshop in IDF uniforms, cut out key bits of video.

Like nom, I'm not easily persuaded by propaganda on either side and rely on reputable sites.

nonnomnom · 16/10/2015 12:05

"Who gave the UN authority? colonial nations deciding that another colonial state was a good idea shocking."

XX - If you genuinely believe that the UN has no authority then there is only 1 alternative and that is war - fighting it out to the bitter end.

But don't imagine that there won't be Palestinian losses in this process. Clearly the Israelis aren't going to disappear in a puff of smoke or smile and hold open the door. Palestinians will die in this process. And you will be partly responsible for encouraging them to do this.

You are part of the problem, not the solution.

hampsterdam · 16/10/2015 12:06

Ok thanks shak. Mixed them up but disproves nons ridiculous assertion that there are no settlers.

Shakshuka · 16/10/2015 12:07

The UN recommended the partition plan. The Arabs rejected it. The UN never gave Israel to anyone.

nonnomnom · 16/10/2015 12:10

"So they lay down and wait for isrealis to vote someone in that will offer a peace deal. There's no peace on offer now."

hampster - yes, in a nutshell.

The alternative is death on both sides.

So I can't see a better solution.

Ask yourself whether if you were Israeli, you would be more or less likely to vote for an Israeli government offering a peace deal if you or your friends or family members have just been attacked by a madman with an axe. Would that make you want a government that gives the madman what he wants? Or would you want a government that puts up walls to block the axemen and arms people to shoot future madmen?

I strongly suspect the latter. Mad axemen play into Netanyahu's hands. They don't increase the likelihood of peace.

nonnomnom · 16/10/2015 12:12

"Mixed them up but disproves nons ridiculous assertion that there are no settlers."

hampsterdam - Eh? Were you referring to me? I have never said anything of the kind? What on earth are you talking about??!

hampsterdam · 16/10/2015 12:17

'These are not settlers on territory that is disputed'.

nonnomnom · 16/10/2015 12:34

They are not settlers - they were people in Jerusalem in neighbourhoods that are not disputed and were waiting for/on a bus.

What are you talking about??
