conflict us starting up again. I cannot bear another round of children being killed indiscriminately. The super powers would have you believe that it is all oh so very complicated. its not though is it. It is so bloody unfair how those children will keep dying if the status quo is maintained. Something needs to change.

every individual should be held accountable for their own actions.

Its quite astonishing that people here seem to justify muderous actions by 'what abouts'!

What peace agreement. There's no peace offering on the table now. Bibi explicitly stated there will be no Palestinian state while he's in charge.

crystalgall · 15/10/2015 21:46

Ohhhh. So basically they brought it on themselves. Sorry kids you deserved it. Yes the Zionist party line.

crystalgall · 15/10/2015 21:47

What's astonishing (not really) is the continues dehumanising of Palestinian children by people like you. Despicable.

hampsterdam · 15/10/2015 21:48

Not justifying, just highlighting the obvious double standards.

Yeah, a Jewish terrorist should have the same standards applied. If it doesn't happen, then that is wrong.

I haven't dehumanised Palestinian children. I'm appalled at the idea of someone offering to fight to the last one BECAUSE i care about both Palestinian and Israeli children and their future.

No, there is no peace deal now. That's why I see no way out and feel quite depressed about the whole situation. Even more so when I see Abbas openly inciting. Him and Netanyahu - quite the peacemakers!

I have a whole list of complaints about Israeli actions too, especially now under Netanyahu. This is a complicated conflict. That's why the 'what abouts' are so annoying. It's entirely possible to be critical of both sides. Just because the Palestinians are weaker, doesn't mean they are not also actors in this conflict. Their rejectionism has been a key issue throughout history from the rejection of the partition plan, to the three Nos of Khartoum to the rejection of peace plans offered under both Barak and Olmert.

BTW, what four arabs were murdered by a 17 year old?

I heard of four arabs who were injured by a 17 year old. That's a big difference to murdered! Clearly the propaganda machine doesn't differentiate like Abbas and his murdered 13 year old who is currently being treated in an Israeli hospital.

Shakshuka · 15/10/2015 22:16

I just find it hard to get outraged by Israel not releasing the body to have a hero's funeral. What happens to the bodies of Israeli soldiers captured by Palestinians? Are they released immediately to the families? (You see i can also do what about!)

Agreed.

The son of one the murdered Israelis called for dialogue between Israelis and Palestinians. TThat gives me a bit of hope

caroldecker · 15/10/2015 23:58

I am not an 'ultra zionist', not even Jewish as it happens. I am just interested as to why when 'Palestinian' land is occupied by pother Arab nations no-one cares, but when Israel defends its borders, it is oppressing Palestinians.
I am a fan of a two state solution, but the Palestinians always reject it.
My problem is that all Israel's neighbours are incredibly anti-semitic, which I think is wrong.
How many of you supported apatheid South Africa? So why support an anti-semitic Arab group?

crystalgall · 16/10/2015 00:11

I think you're a crazy person. Are you seriously equating black people from apartheid SA with Israelis? (It's not a question obviously as that is what you're doing. Like I said. Crazy. )

crystalgall · 16/10/2015 00:12

Apologies to poster above. That 17 yr old tries to murder those Arabs but 'only' injured them. Intent was murder though yes...

And I'm interested to know what his punishment will be/would have been if he had succeeded in murdering them. As was his intent.

Shakshuka · 16/10/2015 00:15

I don't agree with many of your views carole but the abuse you get for expressing a viewpoint different to the mumsnet mainstream is crazy.

Shakshuka · 16/10/2015 00:21

How do you know what this 17 year old's intent was?

Are you this obsessed with all stabbing injuries which occur throughout the world? quite astonishing given what is happening in the world that you are losing sleep about the punishment of a minor who may possibly be mentallyddisturbed who injured 4 Israelis.

Shakshuka · 16/10/2015 00:24

And to Israel's credit these attacks have been condemned across the board. Abu mazen has not.

crystalgall · 16/10/2015 00:35

Are you kidding me? It's astonishing and ironic that you can't acknowledge the psychological damage that may have led to Palestinian stabbing Israelis. How on earth can you possibly claim mental health issues for an Israeli teen without acknowledging the mental torture that Palestinian children face day in and day out which at contribute to their actions!?!

crystalgall · 16/10/2015 00:37

I'm
Interested in the punishment of a minor who is Israeli who stabbed 4 people when Palestinian children are shot to death routinely for throwing fucking stones or even not throwing stones but just looking like they might be about to...

crystalgall · 16/10/2015 00:40

There is no MN mainstream when it comes to this conflict. Most people who disagrees with Israel are anti Semitic and most people who side with Israel are seen as an apologist with lots of people in between the two so I think it's pretty even on that score.

SippyDippy · 16/10/2015 00:41

Carol, which planet are you on? Isreal does not defend its borders against Palestine, it illegally encroaches on palestinian land. Do I need to show you maps? It makes daily life hell for palestinians, just google settler violence. Isreal is basically one big terrorist network, its actions legitimised by its other big bully father, the US. But hey, dont let facts get in your way.

As for your twisted concept of apartheid, just google a bit more and you will see how black people of south africa and US openly say that israeli policy reminds them of apartheid south africa.
