I won't mention names but some of them seem to be popular for....not a lot really. Certain people come to mind who have a reputation for being straight talking and funny but most of the time I don't see it. I find them rather disagreeable tbh. Is it just me?

I don't think we are Hallowe'ening this year. Bit of a relief. We only get back from Canada (yes, again ) that morning after an overnight flight so I am hoping I can discourage the kids from actually wanting to T or T.

It's not allowed to be Halloween yet. I need to plant the crocuses and make the Xmas cake. Then it can be Halloween.

I have to prepare for Xmas in advance, it needs to be organised as one year the Round Table Santa run will actually kill me.

HeartsTrumpDiamonds · 09/10/2015 20:31

Hiney what is the Round Table Santa Run?

greenhill · 09/10/2015 20:31

PurpleHair you DH is definitely a keeper Smile

Maryz I'm v sorry about your cat. I had to knock on several doors in a nearby road recently when I spotted a dead cat. I had to let the owner know even though I had bags of frozen food I'd be very upset if it was my cat. Here, have some Wine or Cake whatever you prefer Flowers

Each year our Round Table very kindly send Santa around on a frankly amazing float with lights and music and he drives down every street to wave to the children.

Each local school/charity that wants to be involved is given a two hour slot in which to take buckets, knock on the door to alert the inhabitants and beg for cash.

But .....

You must all always be at least give houses ahead of Santa and his float to endure people get to see him, do you run for the full two hours as your bucket gets heavier and heavier with change, and the more area you cover in your two hours the more cash you get.

So it's December, it's wet, it's icy it's dark and you run sheaf of a truck playing Slade on a loop.

ITS'S AWESOME!

We have that truck too! I thought it was just us- maybe it's a Round Table thing?

greenhill · 10/10/2015 09:06

It is too hilly around here for that sort of thing.

HoneyDragon · 10/10/2015 09:53

I don't know Buffy, did a 5.2 lady in a high vis jacket, Santa hat and wild eyed look stagger up to you and plead 'please just kill me now, there's still 40 minutes to go.....thank you, ma'am. Merry Christmas!"

If so, then yes we have Grin
