I won't mention names but some of them seem to be popular for....not a lot really. Certain people come to mind who have a reputation for being straight talking and funny but most of the time I don't see it. I find them rather disagreeable tbh. Is it just me?

Can't we share our picture allocation? I'll give you mine buffs, no idea how to use them anyway

reni2 · 09/10/2015 12:02

Good idea, Hully. Could be done by emailing or using dropbox then the other user posts it of course.

Hullygully · 09/10/2015 12:03

cant buffs just sort of have it, reni?

reni2 · 09/10/2015 12:05

Hm, ask on Site Stuff, maybe they'll go for it. Why has it been restricted in the first place? I didn't even know it had, never posted a picture myself.

TheSwallowingHandmaiden · 09/10/2015 12:05

Yes, Hully, I knew what it meant Hmm and no, I don't feel I am alone in my opinions because I'm not stupid enough to think Mumsnet is a microcosm of society.

Everyone here thinks the same but not everyone out there does

TantrumsAndBalloons · 09/10/2015 12:08

I wish everyone would just join in rather than complain that it's unfair and bullying or whatever.

Yes, there are people here that I have chatted to and joked with in the past but no one is going to ignore a name you don't recognise and just chat to people you know.

reni2 · 09/10/2015 12:08

Reni is all about steak and wine.

00100001 · 09/10/2015 12:09

Pictures are normally restricted on forums to stop spamming of the forum servers. Also they take up vast amounts of space as well as affecting bandwidth etc.

It's nothign unusual

reni2 · 09/10/2015 12:11

Not that many people do post pictures though, 33, or was it always restricted?

Hullygully · 09/10/2015 12:13

ok swallowing. i'm confused. I give up. I thought your point was that if you went against what you call mainstream thought in here, you got treated like a cunt.

What I don't understand is how so many disputes and rows arise on MN if everyone thinks the same?

PurpleHairAndPearls · 09/10/2015 12:16

I actually think people on here don't think the same at all

In fact I think it's much more diverse right wing than it used to be.

What still remains true is that generally if you act like a cunt, you'll get treated like one.

TantrumsAndBalloons · 09/10/2015 12:16

I would just like to point out that my last post was brilliant and insightful when I wrote it an hour ago and did not press send and then went back to pretending to work.

I did not however press refresh before posting and the thread may have moved on since then.

ginslinger · 09/10/2015 12:17

We are the Borg - we think alike and act alike. Exterminate.

ilovesooty · 09/10/2015 12:22

PurpleHairAndPearls

Spot on in my opinion, especially the last sentence.

ThumbWitchesAbroad · 09/10/2015 12:23

Rending garments renders them rent. Just so you know. Grin
Rent is an adjective - rend is the verb - past is rended, but past passive is rent.
I rended my garments until they were rent asunder, sort of thing.

ExitPursuedByABear · 09/10/2015 12:27

There is not talking to some people.

Bring back Meryl I say.

ghostyslovesheep · 09/10/2015 12:30

'Borg' not THE Borg - the indicates many Borg - but Borg are one collective consciousness not individuals - hence 'we are Borg'

ghostyslovesheep · 09/10/2015 12:32

and OMG Exterminate is Darleks Hmm honestly some people Grin

Grin

The rending/rent sub-genre is really very enjoyable.

I offered a bowl of satsumas decorated like Jack o' lanterns out on Halloween along with the sweets a couple of years ago. I thought it made me look like a bit of a dick, but quite a few parents and ALL of the children really liked them. Even the teens.

ScrambledSmegs · 09/10/2015 12:35

Psst, ghosty, there is no 'r' in Dalek.

ghostyslovesheep · 09/10/2015 12:36

yes we will soon have:

Begging
It's American / no it's not
Fireworks should be banned
Begging again - and in our day it was a PENNY for the guy - bloody inflation
How much are you spending on your kids this Christmas
Mooslamics banning X mass
Present disappointment
Fireworks again
