To think Radio 4 at 6.40 am today lost the plot with their stand alone piece on THERESA MAY's dress? FFS thought they were above that shite (please note I am not a fan of TM but...).

Aw missed that! Are they talking about the navy number she was wearing yesterday?

EElisavetaOfBelsornia · 07/10/2015 07:19

Presumably followed by an in depth analysis of Gideon's trouser choice? FFS indeed. Angry

NotMeUsNotIWe · 07/10/2015 07:21

Yanbu. Unless it had owls on it...

BrendaandEddie · 07/10/2015 07:30

It was a very odd dress to wear.

BrendaandEddie · 07/10/2015 07:30

Don't call thingy Gideon. It's recognised anti Semitic

absolutelynotfabulous · 07/10/2015 07:39

Well, yes, there's a time and a place. And Today on R4 isn't that place.

Yanbu

absolutelynotfabulous · 07/10/2015 07:40

Who's Gideon?

SeaMagic · 07/10/2015 08:12

Gideon is George Osborne's true first name apparently.

Why is this anti semetic Brenda? Confused

LineyReborn · 07/10/2015 08:15

George Osborne was born Gideon Oliver Osborne and is an Anglican.

GloGirl · 07/10/2015 08:17

Link?

Mistigri · 07/10/2015 08:19

I utterly despair of the British news media. The standard of journalism seems to have hit new lows this year.

It's not that fucking hard to provide intelligent news radio, but you need to respect your viewers' ability to distinguish substance from hot air, and you need to employ journalists who are actually journalists and not wannabee celebrities.

LittleLionMansMummy · 07/10/2015 08:20

Makes a change from everyone banging on about her shoes...

BarbarianMum · 07/10/2015 08:23

Yeah, I wondered about that Hmm Seemed to have missed the bit where they told you what Boris was sporting.

derxa · 07/10/2015 08:25

I didn't like the dress but maybe it was a deliberate act to get herself noticed. They're all supposed to be jockeying for position for DC's job.

BreeVDKamp · 07/10/2015 08:28

Why is the name Gideon anti-Semitic? Confused I have a cousin called Gideon.

Bakeoffcake · 07/10/2015 08:35

Well to be fair, there has been a huge amount of media discussion/comment on Jeremy Corbyn's attire recently.

They need to stop commenting on ALL politians clothes.

I do think that dress was totally innapropriate for a major speech. Mind you maybe she wore it deliberately so the media would be talking about that rather than the nasty content of the speech.

Inkanta · 07/10/2015 08:36

'I utterly despair of the British news media. The standard of journalism seems to have hit new lows this year.'

Mistigri - yes exactly, and this year in particular - they're just a shambles.

LittleLionMansMummy · 07/10/2015 08:42

I don't think people are saying the name Gideon is anti-Semitic. It's a Hebrew name from the Old Testament for a judge who led the Jews into battle. The Chancellor has met criticism that his decision to change his name to George stemmed from this Jewish association therefore rendering him anti-Semitic. He claims he just didn't like the name, which is a possibility. He's still a nob though, if not an anti-Semitic one.

absolutelynotfabulous · 07/10/2015 08:43

I'm confused as to why Gideon is anti-Semitic too....

What's wrong with the dress. It's black decent length. Not too low a neckline Confused

Surely only turning up in an Anne Summer corset should be enough to distract from the politics?

Funinthesun15 · 07/10/2015 08:49

It was exactly the same dress as Ruth was wearing on Loose Women yesterday

DonkeyOaty · 07/10/2015 08:50

Acc to the Telegraph she wore a figure stroking dress that revealed rather beautiful bare shoulders

I mean, wtf.

Binkybix · 07/10/2015 08:54

I thought people used it to indicate his poshness? Maybe I'm wrong.

EnthusiasmDisturbed · 07/10/2015 09:02

Yanbu

A few years ago it was all about her CFMH's Hmm she happened to wear kitten heels and some of the press became a little obsessive in a very creepy way
