It is September.

Christmas

AIBU?

OP posts:
sproketmx · 28/09/2015 10:58

No. Christmas should not be acknowledged publicly till after bonfire night

Iamnotloobrushphobic · 28/09/2015 10:59

YABU. Nobody is forcing you to click on the Christmas threads in September. Some people like to start shopping and planning early to spread the cost.

MrsLeighHalfpenny · 28/09/2015 10:59

YABVVR

Samcro · 28/09/2015 10:59

and there is a Christmas topic

gamerchick · 28/09/2015 11:01

September is to start Christmas for me. Except this year I've got nothing to plan for and its making me sad. I still like Christmas threads.. More
Please Grin

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 28/09/2015 11:01

YABU, why have started a thread to point to the Christmas topic when you dont want to talk about Christmas?

Stillunexpected · 28/09/2015 11:01

That link is to the topic marked Christmas. Absolutely no need to go there if you don't want to.

sliceofsoup · 28/09/2015 11:02

YABU.

If you don't want to read, don't click. And if it isn't in the title and you do click, there is a back button, or a little "x" to get rid of the tab. No one is holding your eyelids open and forcing you to read.

QforCucumber · 28/09/2015 11:05

This week it will be October, some of us have over 20 people to buy for and not enough time off work around end November/Early December time to do it in so like to be a bit more organised.

therefore - YABU

MissBattleaxe · 28/09/2015 11:08

YABU. It's silly to only think about Christmas in December. There's a big cost involved and it's sensible to plan ahead so it doesn't all come out of one pay packet.

CadleCrap · 28/09/2015 11:08

The link is to the Christmas board.

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 28/09/2015 11:10

Yes, thank you Confused. As you can see, it is very well used.

BarbarianMum · 28/09/2015 11:10

Just because thread appears in AIBU does not mean you have to click on it.

sproketmx · 28/09/2015 11:11

YABVVU!
It's October later this week. I like to think really carefully about the kids presents in particular and pick up bits and bobs over autumn so I'm not in a mad rush come December.

Think the op will declare you guilty Ego as you started a thread in 'chat'. Only as guilty as s/he him/herself is though, having started a thread in AIBU.

M4blues · 28/09/2015 11:16

The section is there permanently. It's obviously just dormant for most of the year.

I have 4 kids. I'm busy making lists and weighing up 4 versions of the same thing for one and 2 versions of a different thing for another. Ds3 is really hard because he has inherited lots of toys from his older brothers. Dd is also tricky. I always pick up good ideas from other people's threads.

gamerchick · 28/09/2015 11:18

Don't click on any Christmas threads then.

I do think the Christmas threads should be in "Christmas".

Although maybe only because I'm bloody dreading it this year and it seems to be everywhere already. I don't click the threads if it's clear what they are about, but it's still an unwelcome reminder that it's coming. The shops will do that enough soon!

AliceDoesntLiveHereAnymore · 28/09/2015 11:21

That section is there all year round for those of us that want to discuss things related to Christmas without it creeping onto the main boards.

Are you saying you don't like that there is a dedicated Christmas section?? Aren't you just the little dictator? Xmas Hmm

M4blues · 28/09/2015 11:21

Grin I was a sahm for years and never organised enough. But now I'm back to work it's crucial otherwise I'd be crushed by the weight of the task.

AliceDoesntLiveHereAnymore · 28/09/2015 11:23

Oh and if you are going to post about Christmas, please keep it to the Christmas board so as not to rile the resident Scrooges. Xmas Grin
