Dire?! Ok, I don't like the fellas work as a rule anyway, but it's just not block bustery enough?!! (Yes, it is a slow day here)

It is awful! I turned the radio on yesterday and it was playing and I had to turn it off. I'm not keen on his voice anyway but at least it mostly works with his other songs. The lyrics, music and "tune" if you can call it that just don't go together at all. Apparently he wrote it in 20 minutes and it shows!

Fontella · 28/09/2015 22:37

Best Bond theme ever was Gladys Knight - Licence to Kill.

That lady's just got such a great of pipes and the whole thing - the orchestration, her fabulous vocal, the arrangement - it's everything a Bond theme should be:

SladeGreen · 03/10/2015 18:15

Fontella - Brilliant choice Smile

thehypocritesoaf · 03/10/2015 18:22

I'm such a turncoat! It's really grown on me!

BibiBlocksberg · 03/10/2015 20:15

:) @ 'everybody does it better.

Joining the 'whiney arsed shite' ranks, why are there so many whiney (& often nasal) male singers around now?

And don't get me started on Daniel Craig, the highest paid actor of his time - all achieved with a single 'bulldog chewing a wasp' facial expression.

He may look good in a pair of budgie smugglers but for chrissakes man, smile once in a while....

The Bond films are generally like that now though i find, dark, dreary, totally serious, all the tongue in cheek fun gone, meh!

Feel better now i've got that off my chest :)

Muckogy · 03/10/2015 20:16

YANBU. it's kak.

BibiBlocksberg · 03/10/2015 20:31

'Sir Thumbsaloft & R Moore in his M&S Safari suit'

'poor man's Jason Bourne'

Thank you, have genuinly loughed loud & hard at those, needed that :)

BibiBlocksberg · 03/10/2015 20:37

sorry, '£shop Jason Bourne' ...i'll get my coat

Racundra · 03/10/2015 20:56

Chris Cornell's is my favourite (though I think it could have been improved by having Amy Winehouse record it...)

Then Sheryl Crow's Tomorrow Never Dies, I really love that song.

Then Diamonds are Forever. Gosh, that's a real Bond theme, isn't it?

I like You Only Live Twice too, though it's a little saccharine really for Bond.

thehypocritesoaf · 03/10/2015 21:05

How dare you criticise my Daniel?

He can use his single facial expression on me any time.

Yes, men with high voices - Bruno Mars etc are really in at the moment. Something to do with oestrogen in the water?

BibiBlocksberg · 03/10/2015 22:10

I dare, thehypocritesoaf, that mans face has had many chances with me, had high hopes for his appearance in the golden compass series, nope, another miserable deadpan character portrayed with single facial expression.

Might be hormones in the water - i'm still trying to explain the wide appeal of the nasal whiners.

There was that guy on the voice, steve somebody, firefighter by day, singer at night. His first round was awesome, really rich rock type voice, consequent rounds they turned him over to the whiner side as well.

And the poster who said people on the radio reported goosebumps after the SS Bond Bilge? Can't get my head around that at all, they can't be serious surely? Goosebumps from that? Pffft....

BolshierAryaStark · 03/10/2015 22:15

Sounds like any other Bond song, don't know wtf people are on about? Can't be that bad as it's no.1...

ComposHatComesBack · 03/10/2015 22:52

Can't be that bad as it's no.1...

What you mean like stone cold classics by Mr Blobby, Crazy Frog, James Blunt, and Joe Dolce, all of which made number 1.

BolshierAryaStark · 04/10/2015 14:08

No, I mean like it's the 1st Bond theme song to do so.

BolshierAryaStark · 04/10/2015 14:09

I actually have no idea who Joe Dolce is...

ComposHatComesBack · 04/10/2015 14:23

Still first make it any good or better than previous Bond themes. Nancy Sinatra's You only live twice or Louis Armstrong's 'We have all the time in the world'. Popular doesn't equal good look at all the dimwits who laugh along to Mrs Brown's Boys.

thehypocritesoaf · 04/10/2015 14:26

Shut up your face bolshier Grin

It would be great, if like Denis waterman, Daniel Craig sang his own theme tunes. Swoon.

BolshierAryaStark · 04/10/2015 14:58

Ahhhhh, of course Grin

scifisam · 04/10/2015 15:49

Jesus that's depressing. Just the kind of thing you want when going to see an action movie.

Yes, anyone who wants to watch someone fight against bad guys, let's set you up with something that makes you want a nice hot chocolate and maybe some strychnine first.

Adele got it right, among the newer Bond tracks - heartfelt but still fit over action scenes due to the rising choruses.

Anniegetyourgun · 04/10/2015 15:55

You have no idea who Joe Dolce is? What's the matter with you, eh? Got no respect?

thehypocritesoaf · 04/10/2015 15:56

Oh Annie, it's a not so bad...

TheCatsFlaps · 04/10/2015 16:18

Oh, not Adele scifisam, she sounds like a cow giving birth. I can't stand any of her atonal drivel, or Sam Smith's. Both way overrated and both sound painful to listen to.

Happfeet2911 · 04/10/2015 16:21

Can't stand the man anyway, but you're right, it's a total dirge.
