Dire?! Ok, I don't like the fellas work as a rule anyway, but it's just not block bustery enough?!! (Yes, it is a slow day here)

They seem incapable of sitting there and just watching the film Baby. Up and down to the loo, checking their phones, talking loudly over the film, chucking popcorn around, slurping drinks and just being a PITA.
All that to put up with when you have paid all that money? No thanks.

You are right about the LOUD films though. Too loud.

TSSDNCOP · 26/09/2015 10:05

I did think at the first hearing "maybe it's a grower". But I'm on the third or fourth listen now (get another record out Radio 2 Angry) and its irredeemable.

He's tried to be Adele, who wasn't good and failed. Just like he's no Ed sheeran but likes to make out he is.

Just stop whining Sam and no you don't get extra credit for being Weightwatcher of the month.

SquirrelledAway · 26/09/2015 10:16

I'm with sparlkingbrook on the whole cinema "experience", plus I find the smell of popcorn nauseating. Years ago when we lived daaaahn saaaarf I liked to go to The Ultimate Picture Palace in Oxford because it didn't sell popcorn - you could watch the movie in peace. And it had a bar.

Sparklingbrook · 26/09/2015 10:32

YY I don't remember cinema goers always being such arseholes Squirrelled, I used to go a lot years ago. It's a new thing.

limitedperiodonly · 26/09/2015 11:14

I love going to the cinema and I'm really looking forward to Spectre.

I don't like chatterers or texters but that hasn't happened that much to me and I go a lot. I don't mind people occasionally asking: 'What did she just say?' and I can ignore the smell of popcorn.

I really like people who ooh and ahh in action films. I think that's part of going to see a blockbuster in a packed cinema. It's not an art film.

A few times people have shouted out some really good heckles and made everyone laugh, even in the most tense part of a film.

limitedperiodonly · 26/09/2015 11:22

In that torture scene in Casino Royale where Daniel Craig is tied naked to a chair and Le Chiffre is whacking his bollocks with a knotted rope, a boy of near me said loudly: 'I don't like it when you smack my bottom, Mummy.' Grin

We laughed but maybe we should have called social services.

ClareDeLune · 26/09/2015 11:23

After hating the song yesterday, I've heard it loads of times now and I am really liking it now, such a grower.

And the cinema experience (and to a lesser extent, the theatre) really frustrates me. Rustling sweets, up and down, phones and bloody talking. FFS shut up for 90 minutes! Drives me insane and I have been known to ssshhh people in true teacher style!

Sparklingbrook · 26/09/2015 11:30

I had the misfortune to go to a Mamma Mia sing along showing. That put the tin lid on cinema going for me.

Films now watched on my sofa. or not at all.

Theatre is fine, people generally know how to behave.

SundayGirl86 · 26/09/2015 12:03

Another one here who doesn't like it. It is worse than Duran Duran's Grin

Backforthis · 26/09/2015 12:12

The song isn't that bad it's just that he's the one singing it. Give it to someone who isn't a whiney fucker and it could be quite good.

Marmitelover55 · 26/09/2015 12:42

Well he wrote so I think it's right he sings it.

Backforthis · 26/09/2015 12:43

I know. His voice is lousy his writing is passable.

colleysmill · 26/09/2015 13:04

When I think of Bond songs I think of big orchestration, big climax and big belter voice singing it.

For me my absolute favourite is Matt Munro & From Russia with love. About as perfect as a Bond theme could be (and it wasn't even the intro to the film)

Spectre8 · 26/09/2015 14:22

Oh dear it is dire... hugely disappointed I find it more insulting that with what is the most sexist aston martin car involved it is going to in a movie with what should the best bond theme ever. Terrible really. I actually wish they would get someone else to re-do it cos that is now bad it is, the majority of other tracks you can instantly feel and knows its a bond track but this doesn't infact the only good thing is someone posted on youtube the instrumental version (taking out sam smith all together)

VeganCow · 28/09/2015 00:14

Love it. Think his vocal range is amazing x

VeganCow · 28/09/2015 00:20

Posted too soon, and the 'x' shouldnt be there, meant to say, not only love his voice but also the typical Bond orchestra as well.

OnlyLovers · 28/09/2015 10:40

Bland-o-rama. I barely know who the bloke is anyway [gimmer]. It's Diamonds Are Forever all the way for me.

TBH I'm all about Ben Whishaw in his glasses and Missoni polo-necks.

sharonthewaspandthewineywall · 28/09/2015 11:19

I love the one Sheryl Crow does.
Just as an aside why is Grimmy such an annoying prick? And why does he look so much like Orville the fucking duck?

sharonthewaspandthewineywall · 28/09/2015 11:20

*did
'twas many moons ago

Lottapianos · 28/09/2015 13:51

'I love the one Sheryl Crow does.'

Me too, its 'Tomorrow Never Dies'. Its a great song, even if she doesn't really have the voice for it

sharonthewaspandthewineywall · 28/09/2015 13:53

Yes she is a bit squawky/nasally singing it but I like to sing along to it in the shower and outdo her efforts

LeaveMyWingsBehindMe · 28/09/2015 13:55

It's a beautiful song and he sings it well, BUT it does sound a bit like it needs a rocket up its arse halfway through. It has that instantly recognisable Bond theme trait in the lush orchestral arrangement, but it just isn't quite anthemic or powerful enough and it limps along when it should be building to some sort of crescendo.

Perhaps it will be a grower.

LeaveMyWingsBehindMe · 28/09/2015 13:56

Although I don't really like Bond films so I don't know why I give a stuff really. Confused

LittleRedSparke · 28/09/2015 14:29

can't stand it - terrible, whiney sounds like all his other shite songs

Spectre8 · 28/09/2015 18:44

I heard it again on the radio and as one other poster says almost waiting for his to break out into MJs earth song part.
