I should probably has said who goes to the cinema any more? I never ever go due to OTHER PEOPLE. Sad

redredblue · 25/09/2015 20:23

Cannot stand any of his songs!

BastardGoDarkly · 25/09/2015 20:23

I just cannot bear it Bastard £££££s to sit with a load of anti-socials on their phones, eating cheesy nachos, talking loudly and going to the loo every two minutes. Angry
It's not worth it.

Butterflyface · 25/09/2015 20:34

The only good bit in the Pierce Brosnan years was an intro where he was being tortured - it was the first proper look at the fucked-up Bond psyche that they've been delving into - which is all good. But Adele and SS - appalling noise. Note - noise, not sound, or music, because it's neither. And yes, I do know what constitutes music, I'm a trained professional. Unlike SS obviously, who dared to only spend 20 minutes writing a BOND song. Twat.

LongTimeLurking · 25/09/2015 20:40

I didn't like the bit I heard and I think Sam Smith is over rated, his voice just doesn't "hit the spot" for me. Sorry I don't know the technical terms but the 'deep' voice singing is never powerful enough for my liking and the high notes are whiny, plus he sounds constantly breathless.

He reminds me a bit of that whiny twat from Maroon 5.

I think the last time I was excited about a bond film and went to watch it at the cinemar was Goldeneye.......... and Tina Turner did the song for that which is quite decent. 'Goldfinger' by Shirley Bassey? Is good too.

Nope, Sam's definitely isn't a classic.

BastardGoDarkly · 25/09/2015 20:46

I think spending 20 minutes on a song to be a theme tune for something as iconic as bond, is pretty insulting actually.

MadeMan · 25/09/2015 21:42

I suppose as long as you have the obligatory 'Bond notes' and some big sweeping strings for the chorus, then you can probably make a Bond song out of anything in about half an hour.

Surely there must be a phone app out there that meshes the stereotype 007 theme tune with a Slipknot record and then hey presto, "The new Bond song, ladies and gentlemen!"

autumnintheair · 25/09/2015 21:49

it depends on the song!

20 mins ti churn out iconic masterpiece = genius.

20 mins on that crap.....well,,,

BestIsWestOfGallifrey · 25/09/2015 21:55

Dull imho. Jamie Cullum had a great song last year that woukd have made a great Bond theme. here.

And they'll never top Sir Tom doing Thunderball.

BestIsWestOfGallifrey · 25/09/2015 21:56

Ha, Slipknot do Bond Grin

HesSpartacus · 25/09/2015 21:57

What? Diamonds and Forevvvvvaaaaahhhhhhrrrrr is definitely THE best Bond song ever. Long lie The Mighty Bassey (bastard phone keeps wanting to autocorrect that to The Mighty Bassett - argh!).

Sam Shit is a vocal minnow.

HesSpartacus · 25/09/2015 21:58

And while I'm at it with the insults, Daniel Craig is rubbish. Too much like a pound shop Jason Bourne. Where's the sense of humour?

HesSpartacus · 25/09/2015 22:06

Bugger, dh just pointed out that the one I like is Goldfinger. Never mind, just ignore me Blush

LosingTheWillToSkate · 26/09/2015 06:25

To be fair, Adele's scaffold song wasn't my cup of tea but it did sort of suit the film.

And I love going to the cinema! But I like to go in the morning. There's hardly anyone there then.

Roussette · 26/09/2015 08:05

I go to the cinema on my own sometimes, I'm an antisocial old bag! And I love Daniel Craig, there's a lot underneath that suit of his Grin

Sparklingbrook · 26/09/2015 08:14

I couldn't go to the cinema even on my own. Other people have made it a rubbish experience.

BastardGoDarkly · 26/09/2015 08:25

I think Daniel Craig is good in his way, but you're right, he doesn't have the sense of humour thing going on.

I can't think of anything better than going to the cinema on my own, chance would be a fine thing, I can't even have a piss on my own!

Eminybob · 26/09/2015 08:38

It's fucking awful.

I've never liked Sam smith although I could never really articulate why and everyone else I know raves about him. When I heard the song on the radio yesterday I thought, yes! This is it, this is why I don't like him! But then loads of people were phoning in to the radio station saving how amazing it is. And the presenters were raving about it.

It's depressingly god awful dirge.

(I'm so glad to finally get that out and that there are others who agree with me Grin)

limitedperiodonly · 26/09/2015 09:02

Daniel Craig does have a sense of humour - when he's acting - I've heard he's a bit of a miseryguts in real life.

He does a little smirk, he does it in everything, and he delivers funny lines well like when he tells Vesper her codename is Miss Stephanie Broadchest or when he poses as a teacher who's won the lottery to blag his way into a 5 star hotel in Quantum of Solace.

He was very funny in Layercake too.

dustarr73 · 26/09/2015 09:23

Its the way he sings his diction isnt right. He doesnt pronounce his words properly.I only noticed it last year on the X Factor. It was very nasally as well.

The song is still shite i had another listen to it.GrinAwful.

What where they thinking, anybody would have been better than him.

ZaZathecat · 26/09/2015 09:29

All the classic JB tunes are brill: Goldfinger, Diamonds are Forever, Dr No etc. Of the new ones I love Chris Cornell best but really hated the Madonna one. It was shit and did not fit Bond at all.

ZaZathecat · 26/09/2015 09:30

I love DC as well limited.

BabyGanoush · 26/09/2015 09:49

sparkling and others, what is so awful that other people do at cinema's?

Is the the munching of popcorn and sweets?

Most films are so loud you stop noticing after a while.

BabyGanoush · 26/09/2015 09:51

as to the song, I tried listening to it with an open mind but was distracted by by my own mind after a bit and ended up thinking: Hey?! It's over.

It's almost not even a song, just lead-up to....nothing. No melody you can hum, is there?
