What is it with men who parade around the changing rooms naked, without a care in the world?
After 9 hours at work and an hours commute the other day, I was crouching over my bag sorting out my gym gear when I became distinctly aware of a cock, balls and arse inches from my face as he admires himself in the mirror next to me. I lie NOT! it was swinging away less that a foot away!

Now I have to say that in no way do I have a problem with nudity, even in the company of the same sex. When I change at the gym I don't do so under a towel, I'm just discrete about it and don't parade myself around in front of strangers.

It seems to be middle aged men too, not that I have anything against middle aged men, I'm one myself but come on fellas, be a bit more discrete. I don't want your tackle swinging in my face and if you want to admire yourself in the mirror then please wrap a towel around yourself of put some underwear on!

Couldn't care less about the nudity, I did life drawing and painting at art college and saw a real mixture of shapes and sizes there.

It's the people who sit on the benches butt naked. Bring a frigging towel and use it!

ShebaShimmyShake · 22/09/2015 22:10

Gotta laugh at people who claim not to be prudes but are offended at the sight of a human body in a public changing room.

LadyDeGrump · 22/09/2015 22:26

My mother has a habit of sniffing her knickers when she takes them off.

I have no idea why.

I have had to beg her not to do this at the gym.

It is so much worse than strutting naked!

Shock at LadyDeGrumps mum. That would bring utter silence into our changing room !!!!!!

ShebaShimmyShake · 22/09/2015 22:57

Ok Lady, THAT would unnerve me.

Catsize · 22/09/2015 23:00

At least they're her own knickers I suppose...

LadyDeGrump · 23/09/2015 07:48

It does bring utter silence into changing rooms!

She thinks I am a total prude because I hide away changing so I don't have to face it - and everybody's stares.

Garrick · 23/09/2015 09:27

My first thought was that you'd pulled, Drew Grin Didn't post because I didn't want to unnerve you even more!!

I used to get the hump about women shaving their legs in the pool showers. It belatedly dawned on me that a lot of people have to economise on hot water at home, so it's logical. (It only happened at the public pool, not the overpriced gym one.)

It's still hump-inducing when they don't rinse the shower out properly, though.

No134 · 23/09/2015 09:38

Over my many years of taking dc to swimming lessons in our local pool (central London) my dc have encountered, variously:

Woman shaving her minge in the shower (more than once)
Woman shaving her face over the basins
Woman with very prominent nipple piercings in the shower
Two women snogging in the changing rooms (naked)

A good introduction to the wide variety of human behaviour and preferences, I think. The dc appear to have reached late teenagehood unscarred as far as I can tell.

MerryMarigold · 23/09/2015 10:15

Blimey, shaving in the swimming pool shower!!!

BiddyPop · 23/09/2015 11:31

It happens in women's gym changing rooms too....

BuggersMuddle · 23/09/2015 11:50

Slightly off the original topic, but a (quite posh) gym I used to attend had to put up a sign asking people to please not shave in the steam room. I was Confused that anyone had actually thought to do this in the first place.

OnlyLovers · 23/09/2015 11:52

There've been signs to that effect in every gym and leisure centre I've ever used. People can be dim/thoughtless. Although it's an interesting point someone makes above that some people may need to use the gym facilities to economise on hot water at home.

Ta1kinPeace · 23/09/2015 12:44

need to use the gym facilities to economise on hot water at home.
Not need, want.
I'm tight Grin

But when we were having building work and had no bathroom or hot water for 6 weeks, we went to the gym every day Smile it was an absolute godsend.

Drew64 · 23/09/2015 13:10

He was there again last night, thankfully he was talking to his mate and held his towel in front of him so I only got his arse last night.

To be fair, I don't care about the nudity.

It's probably about me personal space being invaded...

BY A COCK AND BALLS!

No need to shout. Hmm

Ta1kinPeace · 23/09/2015 13:14

Drew
What would happen if you "accidentally" gave his groin a full blast of deodorant Smile

MyFavouriteClintonisGeorge · 23/09/2015 13:19

I'm with you OP. Nakedness is fine (even with strutting), but proximity is not.

My personal bugbear is the performance hair people who flap their long hair all around while using the hairdriers and hit you with it. I don't want my own hair in my face (which is why the trimmer is set to No.3) let alone other peoples. One particularly bad offender hair-slapped me so hard once she dislodged my contact lens. Bleurgh.

iamaboveandBeyond · 23/09/2015 13:28

I was waiting for you to say it was the womens changing room, OP.
I'm quite disappointed that you are a man Grin

LovelyFriend · 23/09/2015 13:53

to the people who feel too shy/uncomfortable getting un/dressed in the gym/pool changing room, I think the thing to remember is the reason you have people indulging in attention seeking behaviour in these spaces is because really no one really cares about or sees what other people are doing. No one is critically appraising you or studying your naked body. Yes they may see you, but only in the same way they see the walls or the taps.

This is the very reason some people get all exhibitionist in the changing rooms because it is the only way for them to get "noticed". Mostly people are just getting on with getting on.

Garrick · 23/09/2015 14:02

Biddy Grin

BiddyPop · 23/09/2015 15:27

Blush I meant that women show off their nekkidness too, not about balls and cocks....

I've seen razors come out though

And heard 1 DMum tell her DCs to stop sliding underneath the partitions between showers (into other ladies showering!) not because it was rude or anything, but because "some people wee on the floor so stop sliding on it" Shock I didn't want to think about how she knew about that particular one, cos I Certainly didn't....

ToadsJustFellFromTheSky · 23/09/2015 19:45

Glad I'm not the only one Grin

redstrawberry10 · 24/09/2015 00:49

I don't wander around the changing room naked standing right next to someone with my willy at eye level.

unless he had a massive erection (and I mean massive), I think your eye must have been at willy level, not the other way around.
