To think that it's odd that the royal family just brush this under the carpet?

Tbh I don't give much of a shiny shite about the royals generally, but saw Prince Harry on TV this morning and I've been thinking about him today with regards to his questionable parentage. I say questionable but anyone with a pair of eyes can see that he's James Hewitt's son - he's the absolute spitting image of him. Also he looks nothing like Charles or William.

Obviously this has been raised by the tabloids before, but I find it a bit weird that the whole thing is flatly denied by anybody involved even though the truth is staring everyone right in the face.

It raises some interesting questions: surely Harry has a right to know who his father is? If it transpired he was not Charles' son then would he still be a true part of the Royal Family? Would he still be 2nd in line to the throne? It's a right can of worms.

It's very rare indeed for brown eyed people to be able to produce blue eyed children

No, other way around. It's nigh on impossible for two blue eyed people to produce a brown-eyed child.

Anyway, Harry just resembles the Spencers. Diana's sister has a son who basically looks like a chunky version of him!

katemiddletonsothermum · 08/09/2015 11:32

I'm Harry's Dad. And so's my wife.

UrbaneFox · 08/09/2015 11:41

Nothing would happen to him though, if he did confess to a criminal act as you put it. Charles was shagging Camilla so he could confess, and beg to be arrested, and he would do it!!! He'd go down in flames, spend his last coffers on a good solicitor and a pr firm. He wouldn't even need a good solicitor. A state-appointed one and a PR firm to make sure that everybody knew. OH MY GOD to you think he wouldn't have gone down this path by now if there was a chance Harry was his? he's a media whore.

BoskyCat · 08/09/2015 12:08

I imagine the people involved have found out for certain. You would wouldn't you, with all that speculation? If I was Harry I'd just want to know one way or the other, for the removal of any doubt.

UrbaneFox · 08/09/2015 12:11

No. People looking for a rumour where there is none wouldn't give them doubt, it wouldn't make them uncertain! People could say any old rubbish about my family and I know I know better.

ComposHatComesBack · 08/09/2015 12:21

As a republican, I couldn't give a fuck if Harry was fathered by Prince Charles, James Hewitt or the Kensington Palace milkman.

Because

A) If his father is someone other than Prince Charles, it is unlikely that this is the first member of the Royal Family is someone other than who it is claimed to be.
B) The whole principle of a hereditary monarchy is so absurd that this is at best a side issue.
C) On a human level, it is none of my business and I certainly wouldn't want my parentage endlessly speculated about.

Moln · 08/09/2015 12:24

Just asked the red headed bloke in work. He says he's not Harry's dad. Or so he claims.

LarrytheCucumber · 08/09/2015 13:26

I seem to remember seeing a picture of Diana's sister and he looked a lot like her.

Cerseirys · 08/09/2015 13:42

Yes, Lady Sarah McCrocodile or whatever her name is.

redstrawberry10 · 08/09/2015 14:08

republican to republican, isn't it all of our business? if, indeed, the crown is hereditary, isn't it important to know that this is the proper line?

katemiddletonsothermum · 08/09/2015 14:12

Hang on, Fireman Sam is a red head, isn't he?

And so is Norman.

They are the only two red heads in the village.

Ipso Facto Harry should be speaking with a welsh accent.

Actually, both of these statements are entirely wrong. Two brown-eyed parents can produce a blue-eyed child. And two blue-eyed parents can quite easily produce a brown-eyed child. Contrary to what you were probably told in school, it is not a simple case of brown eye colour being dominant over blue.

profbadbride · 08/09/2015 14:56

But congrats to the OP for devising a foolproof and low-cost method of determining paternity. Who needs DNA evidence when you can tell by just looking? A Nobel prize is surely in the offing Grin

"I seem to remember seeing a picture of Diana's sister and he looked a lot like her."

Yes, this photo that was posted upthread shows a very strong resemblance

Personally I can't see the slightest resemblance between Prince Charles and Prince Harry, despite all the pictures that have been posted, but I still think he is his father and not Hewitt.

aprilanne · 08/09/2015 15:01

my hubby and i both have blue eyes .but my eldest son has dark brown eyes .and i can asure you the milkman is not his father .so that just blew that daft theory away

LibrariesGaveUsP0wer · 08/09/2015 15:06

What an odd thread!

He is ginger. So is half the Spencer family. I think you need something rather more relevant than that to think his father isn't genetically his father.

Oh, and you don't think Hewitt would have jumped up and down to claim him and keep his place in the spotlight?

srtajuanita · 08/09/2015 15:10

Sarah Spencer's son, George, pictured with Harry in 2007:

Interestingly (to me) George, Alexander and Louis are Diana's nephews, and Baby HRH is George Alexander Louis.

BumpAndGrind · 08/09/2015 15:25

Talking of sexy princes... That Prince Carl of Sweden.

Oh My

VulcanWoman · 08/09/2015 15:34

I agree he is the spit of Hewitt, the only bit of doubt is Diana's brother has the red hair and he does look like him, I can't see any of Charles in him.

BlahBlahUsername · 08/09/2015 15:36

I agree he is the spit of Hewitt

Only to people who can't see past ginger hair... Does this mean people think I look like Sarah Ferguson then? Shock

SoupDragon · 08/09/2015 15:38

I agree he is the spit of Hewitt

Perhaps you should go to Specsavers.

Iusedtobeapenguin · 08/09/2015 15:51

Loving this bizarre thread. I don't think Harry could really be Hewitt's son as others have said, Hewitt would surely try to milk the situation a bit - or maybe he is and we just don't know about it.... dun dun daaaaaah!

And personally I don't think anything about the royal family should be private. They are our own RL version of Eastenders, but instead of a licence fee we all pay a little bit of our taxes to sit back and watch the show Grin

SeasideSunshine · 08/09/2015 15:53

I do think people struggle to see past the red hair. Look at black and white photos - it's much clearer the resemblance between Harry and Charles and Philip.

ML29 · 08/09/2015 16:09

Have to say, I don't think he looks anything like Diana's brother or nephew, other than the hair colour, so I don't see that as a valid argument.

However I really doubt he is the result of the affair between Hewitt and Diana
