To think that it's odd that the royal family just brush this under the carpet?

Tbh I don't give much of a shiny shite about the royals generally, but saw Prince Harry on TV this morning and I've been thinking about him today with regards to his questionable parentage. I say questionable but anyone with a pair of eyes can see that he's James Hewitt's son - he's the absolute spitting image of him. Also he looks nothing like Charles or William.

Obviously this has been raised by the tabloids before, but I find it a bit weird that the whole thing is flatly denied by anybody involved even though the truth is staring everyone right in the face.

It raises some interesting questions: surely Harry has a right to know who his father is? If it transpired he was not Charles' son then would he still be a true part of the Royal Family? Would he still be 2nd in line to the throne? It's a right can of worms.

(Apologies if lots of images have already been posted).

In fact he looks more like Charles than William does IMO.

ML29 · 08/09/2015 07:16

I think Harry is so hot ! the hotness added to by all the scrapes he gets into.

I think the real question should be 'what has happened to William?' he used to be so good looking, I can't figure out why he has changed so much to the detriment (and it's not the balding head), I think he had his teeth done or something that has changed his appearance.

Moopsboopsmum · 08/09/2015 09:36

Charles in that pic above though Blush

BlahBlahUsername · 08/09/2015 09:36

No, ML29. William was cute at 14, but then the Windsor genes really kicked in. He has the same kind of teeth as Anne.

katemiddletonsothermum · 08/09/2015 10:25

THIS is Harry's real dad.

GoblinLittleOwl · 08/09/2015 10:28

What an unpleasant person you are.

Groovee · 08/09/2015 10:38

He looks like his uncle Charles Spencer! He has a spencer look about him!

LurkingHusband · 08/09/2015 10:42

Maybe James Hewitts parentage - immediate or ore distant - is an issue ? Charles II (for example) had quite a number of illegitimate children (that we know off).

Richard Dawkins points out that you don't have to go back too far, before family trees start to coalesce spectacularly.

Somewhere, way back when, we're all related to the Queen.

Sansoora · 08/09/2015 10:48

He looks like Charles.

Lemonfizzypop · 08/09/2015 10:50

Rly? Confused

Blackpoollassy · 08/09/2015 10:50

I found out about this in 1992 from a family friend who was PA to a high profile Lib MP at the time. Apparently the press were more than aware of it but were banned from printing anything about it.
I then a few years later heard exactly the same thing from someone who was friends with the Bowes Lyon family. Again, they'd Ben told the same thing. All of this was prior to any murmurings that I'd notice in the press.
As a result I'm inclined to believe the story.
As to those who say Diana hadn't met Hewitt, how do you know? Of course they'd say that.

LondonGramma · 08/09/2015 10:53

Blackpool, I also know someone who taught at their school and somebody who was a royal protection officer and yes, it was gossip for a long time before it was in the papers. But that doesn't make it true. People gossip.

BigbyWolf · 08/09/2015 11:02

Are you mad?

He looks like Charles and Phillip.

Pastamancer · 08/09/2015 11:11

Harry's Dad is Elmo.

BoffinMum · 08/09/2015 11:12

It's very rare indeed for brown eyed people to be able to produce blue eyed children. So let's look at the facts.

  1. Hewitt has brown eyes.
  2. Charles has blue eyes.
  3. Harry has blue eyes.
  4. Plus if you look at pictures of Harry's grandparents, everyone has blue eyes.

Therefore the odds are vanishingly small that Hewitt is Harry's father. So small we can usefully dismiss them.

SoupDragon · 08/09/2015 11:15

It's very rare indeed for brown eyed people to be able to produce blue eyed children.

No it isn't.

You are thinking of two brown eyed parents.

schokolade · 08/09/2015 11:18

Total rubbish BoffinMum.

Speaking in general terms, brown eyes are dominant, blue recessive. If two heterozygous brown eyed people reproduce, on average 25% of their offspring will have blue eyes.

UrbaneFox · 08/09/2015 11:18

Blackpoolassy I think anybody who attempts to perpetuate this particular rumour is nuts. He is the carbon copy of Charles but with red hair and smaller ears. I'm sure there's loads of juicy stuff people could be chit-chatting about, stuff that is all the more tantalising for being true.

As for the Bowes-lyons family, isn't that the cliché, that working class families used to 'joke' that they were bowes-lyons born on the wrong side of the blanket.

And finally, if hewitt were Harry's father, he'd have publicly demanded a dna test by now. He's the type. That guy would love to be harry's father but sadly for him, he can't claim it.

SoupDragon · 08/09/2015 11:19

If Harry had brown eyes, OTOH...

Anyway, he is clearly not Hewitt's son. anyone with half a brain cell can see that

UrbaneFox · 08/09/2015 11:21

Yes, boffin, as schokolade says, what's rare is the other way round, it's rare for two blue eyed parents to have a child with brown or green eyes.

mellowheart · 08/09/2015 11:22

I think it's the hair that does it, but really he resembles Diana's brother. Facially he doesn't resemble Hewit. That saying I'm sure there's loads go on with the Royal family that we never get to hear of. I think if we knew even the half of it the whole farce of a monarchy would be finished.

Samcro · 08/09/2015 11:24

dear me, poor Harry
he looks just like his uncle

LurkingHusband · 08/09/2015 11:28

And finally, if hewitt were Harry's father, he'd have publicly demanded a dna test by now.

Or maybe confessing to a criminal act - no matter how archaic - doesn't strike him as a good idea.

Particularly when the evidence would be incontrovertible.
