To think that it's odd that the royal family just brush this under the carpet?

Tbh I don't give much of a shiny shite about the royals generally, but saw Prince Harry on TV this morning and I've been thinking about him today with regards to his questionable parentage. I say questionable but anyone with a pair of eyes can see that he's James Hewitt's son - he's the absolute spitting image of him. Also he looks nothing like Charles or William.

Obviously this has been raised by the tabloids before, but I find it a bit weird that the whole thing is flatly denied by anybody involved even though the truth is staring everyone right in the face.

It raises some interesting questions: surely Harry has a right to know who his father is? If it transpired he was not Charles' son then would he still be a true part of the Royal Family? Would he still be 2nd in line to the throne? It's a right can of worms.

I reckon 'Jeremy Kyle: The Royal Episode' would get good ratings.

CalmYourselfTubbs · 07/09/2015 21:39

why are we not allowed ask questions glamping? are we all in north korea, the soviet union, mao's china or nazi germany? are we?
that's where not asking questions eventually brings you.
never stop asking questions. ever.

It really annoys me when people insist he his Hewitt's son. Diana's dalliance was after Harry was born. It's such an easy fact to uncover but people prefer to think two gingers! he must be the Dad! About half of Diana's relatives were proper ruddy cheeked gingers and Harry was two when Hewitt and Diana hooked up.

I'm glad to see a lot of posters talking sense and presenting proper facts to the OP.

glampinggaloshes · 07/09/2015 21:41

i guess it depends on whether its ok to judge or second guess other peoples parentage, or more accurately their genetics. isn't it somewhat last century & does it still matter? i am sure we will all have different views.

I love the idea of Phil the Greek rocking up on Jeremy Kyle demanding a DNA test.

Of course, if we ratchet the tabloidery- even higher, we could consider that Diana, despite having an O level in hamster care or something, was Machiavellian enough to have an affair with someone who looked enough like the Spencers for his child to 'pass' in case of contraceptive failure... Grin

FarFromAnyRoad · 07/09/2015 21:42

I don't mean 'posts'. I mean threads. Although a lot of the posts are unbelievably horrid too.

CalmYourselfTubbs · 07/09/2015 21:44

i think its fine to question someone's parentage when the taxpayer continues to fund their lavish lifestyles and dalliances.

DriverSurpriseMe · 07/09/2015 21:49

Genetics are odd - just Google Michael Jackson's children. Stunning bunch - but you'd never think their dad was black.

Michael Jackson's oldest two children are 100% Caucasian. They are not mixed race and don't have any black features. I'm really not sure how Michael thought he'd be able to pass them off as his biological kids - but then he had a very questionable relationship with reality.

enthusiasmcurbed · 07/09/2015 21:52

Oh for fucks sake. He was conceived after the affair with Hewitson. I'm sure Harry will be delighted to yet again find his parentage disputed. Just what you always want. You lose your Mum young, then everyone and their dog speculate on your parentage till the day you fucking die.

YetAnotherHelenMumsnet · 07/09/2015 21:52

Evening all,
We know we've all had a rather... tempestuous time of it recently but it's no reason to let standards slip. As it happens, this is a poster who has been with us for a number of years, but even if it was a first time poster we would require more civility than has been demonstrated here, regardless of the possible disgraceful besmirching of our Royal Family's excellent name.
It feels like all we've done tonight is warn against troll hunting but really, can you Just Not Troll Hunt? Likewise the personal attacks. Guidelines here, for those that are unfamiliar. www.mumsnet.com/info/netiquette

Moln · 07/09/2015 21:54

I'm a bit narked no one is accepting my two dad theory.

CalmYourselfTubbs · 07/09/2015 21:56

how do you know?

katemiddletonsothermum · 07/09/2015 21:58

As a fully fledged member of the Royal Family, one suggests that OP should be sent to the Tower.

Calm I read stuff. And don't believe scurrilous rubbish.

Moln · 07/09/2015 22:07

"besmirching"

I like that word. I'm going to drop it into conversation at work tomorrow.

Speaking of work, I work with a red head. I will look at them suspiciously tomorrow.

Garrick · 07/09/2015 22:08

Moln, I accepted your theory without question.

I had a quick look at the first three lines of Google Image results, which very clearly confirmed beyond all shadow of doubt that Hazza is indeed the offspring of Jimbo and Chaz (Spencer). This means his uncle is his dad, his mother was his sister, and his brother is his cousin whilst his cousin is his half-brother. His other father is, of course, a wazzock whichever story you believe.

It's so simple, I can't understand why everyone doesn't see it. You're a genius.

Bakeoffcake · 07/09/2015 22:09

Yes Moln, all redheads have be sired by Hewitt, he's been a very busy boy.

Moln · 07/09/2015 22:09

He looks like Charles. I also agree there is no way Diana would have let it happen. We know from Squidgygate she was careful about contraception and I suspect would have aborted if she'd had a doubt.

Also, James Hewitt bears an astounding resemblance to George VI and Edward the VIII, Harry's great Grandfather and great-great-uncle. So some resemblance is not surprising.
