How cold are you?

8 am cold.

I am currently wearing..

Socks. Slippers. Leggings. Dress. Jumper. Crocheted blanket.

I suspect I have that thing where your fingers and toes go white and numb and tingly. Or frostbite.

The rule is that the heating can only go on in October. I may be frozen solud and dead by then.

Might change my name to Ötzi.

I am cold tonight. Not yet put heating on but I have thick socks on, dressing gown and am sitting under my duvet in the living room watching strictly.

steff13 · 05/09/2015 21:05

It's 92* F here, though the A/C has made me a little chilly.

ObiWanCannoli · 05/09/2015 21:08

Also cold we've had the heating off about 2 weeks this summer, highlands Scotland.

I'm wearing legging, two pairs of socks, vest, dress and wolly jumper. We've also got the heating on and the dh is lighting the wood burner and pouring the wine.

I'm dreading leaving this room for the bedroom. Might sleep on the sofa.

OrangeNoodle · 05/09/2015 21:09

Not cold. Only just closed the doors and windows as it's got dark. Evenings are still quite pleasant here in Cornwall and the house is comfortable.

If it was 6 degrees outside like a pp mentioned (Scotland?) then the fire would be blazing!

We usually start using the woodburner in late October and heating some time in November for an hour or so a day. More in Jan and Feb when it's 5 or so degrees outside.

HookedOnHooking · 05/09/2015 21:10

Crochet is great. Dead easy and an extra layer over your lap.

Fairly cold in my corner of Lincolnshire but heating not on because I have a large, sleeping dog lying on top of me.

DeathMetalMum · 05/09/2015 21:25

I will admit it's gone much colder the last few days. I have bought out my jumpers and slipper boots, never put them away and have worn my warmer coat a few times too, but I would be cold in what you are wearing leggings really don't keep me warm and I would need a vest too.

flanjabelle · 05/09/2015 21:28

I'm under a duvet on the sofa, and I have fluffy socks on and I'm still cold. Determined not to put the heating on though!!

flanjabelle · 05/09/2015 21:29

It has been between 13 and 23 degrees here today, very weird weather.

SpendSpendSpend · 05/09/2015 21:31

Im not cold at all, windows open all days and im in a short sleeve top.

But i do find people who are overweight dont feel the cold like people who are of normal weight do

MyCarHasBrokenDownAgain · 05/09/2015 21:33

I dug my crochet blanket out today too. No heating yet though (not at those bloody prices!!).

Dragonglass · 05/09/2015 21:35

I usually feel the cold more than other people but I'm comfortable tonight. I'm in Devon and I'm wearing a vest, pjs, dressing gown and socks. It's not cold enough for heating quite yet.

Sallystyle · 05/09/2015 21:38

My heating is set to about 17 all year around.

It has came on a few times this week. I am very cold blooded (under-active thyroid) but my house gets hot very very quickly.

The heating isn't currently on but I am a bit chilly. Not looking forward to waking up at 5.30am when it will now be cold.

My body temperature seems to have plummeted since I've been pregnant. I'm bloody freezing all the time.

CarrieLouise25 · 05/09/2015 21:46

I'm always cold, don't know why. Am feeling cold now, but DH will not allow heating on yet Sad

He's right, and I should really just put extra layers on.

However, I am still enjoying making my point about how cold I am, by putting my freezing cold hands on him when he least expects it, and making him scream like a girl Grin

SusanHollander · 05/09/2015 21:48

Cold here...well I am anyway. My nose is especially cold.

ginagslovechild · 05/09/2015 21:49

In bed with heating on, electric blanket on and crocheting a blanket, it's freezing in NI tonight although was lovely earlier we spent the day outside!

RebootYourEngine · 05/09/2015 21:51

I have been feeling cold and miserable the last week. Had the heating on a couple of times. Dont have it on tonight but the electric blanket is on ready for me going to bed.

I have raynauds and its a pain in the butt. I have a physical job where i need to use my hands and in the winter/cold days i waste a good half an hour trying to warm them up. It doesnt matter how many pairs of gloves i wear or hand warmers i use my hands always go purple, then white, then tingle, and then get really fucking sore to the point where i cant move them, then they are normal. Everyday if not two or three times a day this happens.

Does anyone know a way to stop this?

FarFromAnyRoad · 05/09/2015 21:51

Thanks Purple - those look like exactly what I need! On the wishlist and fingers crossed!

DaddyPigIsMyParentingGuru · 05/09/2015 21:51

I am wearing a scarf, a jumper and wrapped up in a blanket. I am still cold.

nicknameidea · 05/09/2015 21:52

soundsystem I thought nose warmers were the stuff of legend! I shall go hunting...

FyreFly · 05/09/2015 21:53

I'm curled up under a blanket on the sofa, and I have a fan heater just keeping the edge off when needed; I'm OK. Seems a bit much to put the heating on for the entire house at this time of year when I'm just sat in the lounge with a perfectly good blanket.

Patchworkpatty · 05/09/2015 21:56

gave in, went to the garden centRe got some 'proper' coal. Lit a fire. Toastie toes here . Home Counties UK !!

HookedOnHooking · 05/09/2015 21:57

I could crochet nose warmers and make my fortune.
