I like little signs and words around the home. I have quite a few, made from nicely decorated wooden letters ('soak' in the living room, 'relax' in the guest bedroom, kids names on their windowsills etc).

I went to a friends house today. She has a new sign too.
It's wooden letters above her loo spelling out a vulgar term for urine. She thought it was hilarious. I not so.

Am I boring or is it offensive? What would you think?

You sell these letters on FB you say? Please may I order a C, a U, a K and an F?

Did that Mumsnetter who came up with the idea of Cath Kidson bunting spelling "cunt" ever put it into production? I'm sure it would fly off the shelves.

Well I think it's awful. I'm sure I'm not alone.
I would hate for my 6 year old to go in and read it, and I'm sure it can't be teaching her children good vocabulary.

And yes I do think that if people buy letters that I've taken lots of time and trouble to decorate nicely, then it is an insult to spell out profanities. Why buy them!??

I wouldn't put a sign saying piss in my toilet but it doesn't deeply offend me. I also wouldn't put random words like soak around my bathroom or anywhere else but each to their own!

It wasn't a contradiction, it was referring to the figurative and literal. YOU didn't sell them and they aren't in your house, so these particular letters are NONE OF YOUR BUSINESS, figuratively or literally.
