To think that this is disgusting and offensive?

I like little signs and words around the home. I have quite a few, made from nicely decorated wooden letters ('soak' in the living room, 'relax' in the guest bedroom, kids names on their windowsills etc).

I went to a friends house today. She has a new sign too.
It's wooden letters above her loo spelling out a vulgar term for urine. She thought it was hilarious. I not so.

Am I boring or is it offensive? What would you think?

Yes, agree it could have been worse Grin

MaudGonneMad · 21/08/2015 11:40

I've got an antique print in my bathroom showing the shitting habits of different nationalities.

You'd hate me OP Grin

Lj8893 · 21/08/2015 11:41

Has anybody seen those mugs with "vulgar" sayings on them? I bloody love them!!!

bogspavin · 21/08/2015 11:41

Is this thread a wind up? Grin Grin

If not, sorry OP, but I cannot be doing with that live, laugh, love stuff.

If I had signs, mine would read:

moan
heave
feck off

Maybe the piss sign is a passive -aggressive indication that she doesn't want visitors shitting in her toilet? She must be a Mumsnetter Wink

JeanneDeMontbaston · 21/08/2015 11:42

I want that skive sign. Please market them, jeff.

My girlfriend's landlady has large, dark wood letters placed high up, spelling out RELAX.

It always looks vaguely threatening to me.

blibblobblub · 21/08/2015 11:43

I think it's funny. But then, I don't like those signs, so I like that it's poking fun.

Each to their own eh?

bungmean · 21/08/2015 11:43

Oh no! A "piss" sign in her OWN toilet? In her OWN house?

Disgusting. Offensive.

Burn down her toilet - it's the only language her sort understands.

WorktoLive · 21/08/2015 11:43

[[http://www.shotdeadinthehead.com/grammar-mug.html]] mug always makes me think of MN Grin.

APlaceOnTheCouch · 21/08/2015 11:44

I think it's a bit naff tbh and my DM would be horrified. In fact my DM might even think it 'disgusting and offensive' too. The difference between her and you is that she would have re-arranged them to spell something else - problem solved!

But thanks for the thread - it has made me Smile too

MajesticWhine · 21/08/2015 11:44

Very funny, in my opinion. But I enjoy vulgar language.

Charley50 · 21/08/2015 11:45

Almost totally irrelevant but once I was playing scrabble with my elderly, prudish and innocent, mum, and my letters made 'wanker.' I was over the moon, apologized and got that word down!

Chippednailvarnish · 21/08/2015 11:45

I'd love to order some letters from you and spell out vulgar words like "retentive" and "anally".

WorktoLive · 21/08/2015 11:46

Sorry, fucked up the link try again

Charley50 · 21/08/2015 11:46

You could rearrange it to sips, in case someone, or the dog, was thirsty.

YesIleftthebastard · 21/08/2015 11:47

Well all I can say is things must be going well for you if that's what offends. Did she have a sign saying shite next to the one saying piss?

AuntyMag10 · 21/08/2015 11:49

You feel offended at something that's not your businessConfused seriously get a grip and stop worry over stupid stuff.

LynetteScavo · 21/08/2015 11:49

I think you should buy her a Poo sign for Christmas. She'll love it.

Narp · 21/08/2015 11:52

WorkToLive

good mug

ghostspirit · 21/08/2015 11:52

gosh i thought it was going to be a strong swear word. was quite disapointed when it turned out to be piss. :/

CarlessFandango · 21/08/2015 11:53

This has to be a piss take surely?!

I always laugh at these twee signs. It started with people & their scrapbooking rooms where everyone was sooo creative (and like everyone else!) with large wooden letters on the shelf spelling out "CREATE"!

I'd be tempted to get ones above the toilet spelling out SHIT!

DextersMistress · 21/08/2015 11:53

I might start my own range of twee bathroom signs.

'If you sprinkle when you tinkle
You're a cunt. Clean it.'

Hedgesinthewind · 21/08/2015 11:55

YABU because "nicely decorated letters" to spell out the purpose of a room are just naff. But I suppose some people don't have much of a sense of taste

WorraLiberty · 21/08/2015 11:55

Haha love it!

If my friend had a sign saying 'soak', I'd have to put one in front of it saying 'OLD' Grin
