To think that this is disgusting and offensive?

I like little signs and words around the home. I have quite a few, made from nicely decorated wooden letters ('soak' in the living room, 'relax' in the guest bedroom, kids names on their windowsills etc).

I went to a friends house today. She has a new sign too.
It's wooden letters above her loo spelling out a vulgar term for urine. She thought it was hilarious. I not so.

Am I boring or is it offensive? What would you think?

She hasn't got a F U C K sign above her bed by any chance?

Narp · 21/08/2015 11:31

I used to ring the FCUK logo more offensive. Funny really because I do swear quite a lot at home

Teenage DD drew illustrations for DD3 when she was potting training. They are pretty graphic. We are past that stage now but so cute I can't bring myself to take them down. Guessing you don't approve?

ThisNameIsBetterThanMyRealOne · 21/08/2015 11:32

Ahh I see,

Are you annoyed she went elsewhere to buy her crap wooden letters?

Narp · 21/08/2015 11:32

Are you having us on OP?

WoeIsMee · 21/08/2015 11:32

For the last time, 'soak' in the living room was a mistake.

This thread has cheered me up no-end, this morning. Grin

Creatureofthenight · 21/08/2015 11:33

Well I can't say as it's something I'd have in my own bathroom, but "disgusting and offensive" is a bit strong, isn't it?

ShadowLine · 21/08/2015 11:34

I hope you're not taking this as some sort of personal insult because she's misusing letters that are like the ones you sell.

Costacoffeeplease · 21/08/2015 11:34

I had never thought that someone would use them in this way

This has cheered me up no end, thanks op! Are you going to make future customers sign a 'no swearing' contract? Grin

Do you double-check that your customers aren't using your letters to spell out naughty words, OP?

Narp · 21/08/2015 11:34

Shadow

Yes, that's what I thought.

Er, YABU for this alone. Don't you know which room is which?

NoMontagues · 21/08/2015 11:35

Even if she had bought them from you, you still couldn't say anything because they would be hers, to do with what she liked.

Narp · 21/08/2015 11:36

Hedges

She mistyped, I think

JeffreysMummyisCross · 21/08/2015 11:36

This made me spit my tea out with laughter.

I am very childish, though.

Binkybix · 21/08/2015 11:37

Could have been worse...

Lj8893 · 21/08/2015 11:38

I don't mind those signs. I don't have any but quite like them.

I wouldn't have a piss sign in my toilet but would think it was quite funny if I saw it in a friend toilet!

I think you are being a little precious.

WorktoLive · 21/08/2015 11:39

Is piss a vulgar term for urine? I thought it was quite mild in the great scheme of things. Does she have one that says shit too? Grin.

If not, you have a great idea for a Christmas present for her there. Perhaps go for the full house and get 'fucking' to go above her bed?

No opinion on those decorative letter things, because I am not particularly interested in home decoration. However, I think they are quite unpopular on here, along with ‘twigs and pebbly shit’.

However, I do have this map on my office wall, so I would always find amusement in the words ‘piss’ spelt out in a bathroom.

Narp · 21/08/2015 11:39

I think I'd have : "Fart" in the bedrooms (2 teenage boys), "Vegetate" in the lounge, and "Bicker" in the kitchen

Theycallmemellowjello · 21/08/2015 11:39

I love those letter things but I can never think of anything to spell that doesn't seem lame to me. Maybe your friend had that problem? Piss is slightly amusing. I just keep buying loads of my and DH's and DS's first name initials which drives DH crazy and which I appreciate is probably worse than either swearwords or folksy catchphrases.

JeffreysMummyisCross · 21/08/2015 11:39

I need a SKIVE sign above by desk ("procrastinate" is too many letters to buy).

DeathstarDame · 21/08/2015 11:39

I think thats hilarious personally! I also like the cross stitches that are about a lot at the moment with swear words and floral detail. It's all down to personal taste I think. Whatever floats your boat!
