I'd like to know who the moderators are.

Oh God if it involves some fabled internet war with Bounty then I'm out.

GROW UP FFS

Some people act like it's a school playground but you can choose not to be one of them...

ArendelleQueen · 20/08/2015 13:44

"I just didn't appreciate that, in that situation, they offered no help at all, they simply didn't care less, and have, despite me telling them I was aware who it was have backed this lady up when she was one of the main voices on the Bounty Mutiny."

Realistically though, what could they have done? Her being a piss taker and being a pain in the arse and hacking you on other sites must have been crap for you but it doesn't sound like she was breaking the T&C on here.

MaudGonneMad · 20/08/2015 13:44

God almighty. Who gives a shit about the 'Bounty mutiny', whatever it was. Let. It. Go.

MistressMerryWeather · 20/08/2015 13:47

I doubt she will acknowledge Dawn.

She hasn't done anything wrong at all in her mind.

MistressMerryWeather · 20/08/2015 13:49

acknowledge those comments

The thing is though, did you know who it was? You thought you did but I doubt you could have known for certain. It's highly likely MN didn't know for certain either. So they couldn't just start chucking bans around based on your suspicions and things which had happened on other sites.

It doesn't sound like it was pleasant at all and I am sorry it happened to you. I only read the start of that thread and it appears that some people weren't very pleasant to you. But you really are the person who is giving these incidents the power to hurt you when you are blowing up some very trivial, childish, petty behaviour into something which is still distressing you several years later.

Like I said. It's the internet. It's unimportant. It's not real. Who cares?

Dawndonnaagain · 20/08/2015 13:56

You're probably right Mistress. They are after all, her own quotes.
Now we'll be accused of ganging up on her.
Hmm

MistressMerryWeather · 20/08/2015 14:03

There was also psychotic weirdos, bunch of nutters, mad haridans, MumsNutters, neurotic women, sudo[sic]-intelligent mentalists, etc...

Nice, eh? And from someone who apparently helps people with mental health problems too.

Dawndonnaagain · 20/08/2015 14:07

Delightful, Mistress. Angry

Awaits response...

I don't think I heard about the trolling (although I have a vague recollection but can't quite remember what it was). I do understand that it was horrible for you to have your online identity stolen and used against you. I'm not quite sure what MNHQ were supposed to do about it though. And I don't see the link to the Bounty Mutiny. I really can't imagine who you are talking about when you say one of the main organisers. Do you mean a blogger who blogged against Bounty?

The fact is, it was all a long time ago. Like many people I've had arguments online, but you just have to move on and put them behind you. Sometimes I've come out of an argument and made friends with whoever I've been arguing against!

There is a bit of bullying on Mumsnet and I guess at times MNHQ have come down on the wrong side - they are human after all! It's not a fair reflection of the entire site though.

howtorebuild · 20/08/2015 14:26

Woe is me is a symptom of depression.

MistressMerryWeather · 20/08/2015 14:29

It can also just mean someone likes a good moan.

YellowTulips · 20/08/2015 14:33

Or someone happy to dish shit out but unable to take it when it's thrown back.

HawkEyeTheNoo · 20/08/2015 14:34

Stephanie, please tell me you are the real deal? I totally luffs Ms Beecham!!

20 something, I'm sorry you have felt bullied in anyway whilst on MN, in fact I'm sorry if you have ever been bullied in your life, in any way, via any means. I think though that it's time to move on, holding this bitterness cannot be good for you. Some people will be bullies, call names, be sharp with others, I have fallen down at times and called people names when I know I abhor things like that, and yes it's usually in response to someone attacking me, but I have to take a deep breath and let it go, as do you.
Please don't infer that you can understand why the hack was done and that it was due to vitriol from us Mnetters (I haven't read blog, just this thread) because you know that's not true and is something you should never say, people don't deserve bad things to happen to them on the whim of bad people, just because you were wronged by them 4 years ago or whatever, you need to let that grudge go. People will come and go on the net as they do in real life, enjoy your time with some of the seriously funny and witty posters on here, read the classics and laugh yourself to tears, hold out a helping hand for someone in need or indeed hold out your hand and one of us will hold on right through the bad times with you!

And of course there will always be a couple of c&nts, there almost always are, in life and online Wink

StephanieBeacham · 20/08/2015 14:36

ahem. No, I only misspelt it in case she ever needs it for a webchat.

Wouldn't that be lovely?

CoteDAzur · 20/08/2015 14:37

20smthing - I'd like an answer please. Just an acknowledgement that you understand is fine:

You say MN brought this criminal act (hack) onto itself because of some of its posters not being terribly pleasant, which sounds like you believe MNers all therefore deserve to be attacked thus.

In a similar vein, would you say that women who are raped bring it on to themselves because they wear mini skirts, figure-hugging dresses, and danse in a way that provokes men?

If not, why not?

StephanieBeacham · 20/08/2015 14:37

Oops, didn't misspell it. Oh dear.

Well she'll have to fight me for it now.

HawkEyeTheNoo · 20/08/2015 14:42

The lady doth protest too much WinkWinkWinkWinkWink I've gotcha Steph!!!!

HawkEyeTheNoo · 20/08/2015 14:44

WhyBeHappyWhenYouCouldBeNormal · 20/08/2015 14:50
