then again I'm on MN a lot less than I used to be

She left MN but hasn't disappeared off the face of the earth. She's blogged her reasons for leaving MN for anyone with an inkling of where to look.

Tee left after the NY kerfuffle iirc.

Deleting my PMs the other day reminded me how much help she'd given me tech wise. I still have a client because she helped me on the first job when I was clueless about the tech side. At 8am on a Sunday.

Shame that side of MN never gets publicity.

Yes it is. The popular narrative about MN really doesn't fit the reality.

If you check my posting history you will see I have had a child with cancer.

The kindness and generosity we have received (friendship, advice, a "little hug" from the wooly hugs team, Christmas presents from the appeal) will stay with me forever. I have never cried so many happy tears.

There are some lovely vipers on MN.

MNers made a bloody big difference to me when I was suicidally depressed. Honeydragon included, especially one night when I was on the verge of breaking into the park over the road and jumping in its lake, so thanks Honey. And now I'm better I've paid it forward. That kind of thing never gets publicised either.

Thanks Zing he recently took his last chemotherapy and is doing really really well.

I'd like to add that I wasn't a 'known' mumsnetter (I'm not now) but just an ordinary run-of-the-mill site user who happened to find herself in the position of having a seriously ill child.

Another annoying thing about this hacking crap is the MNHQ don't even have time to think up funny deletion messages, a thread about asparagus, lobster and oral sex just went poof with a very bland "Thread deleted" message.

At this rate I'm going to have to go outside and join in with the floodlit slacklining japes.
