So my sister was surprised that we eat fast food/takeaway once a week every friday. We usually have fish and chips, dominos, Mcdonalds or KFC, the dc usually have an chocolate bar or sweet item the same night. None of us are overweight and dc have very healthy diet during the week.

Aibu to think most families do this.

I think lots of people do this but we don't - too expensive and too crappy. Dh and I have a takeaway every few months, when we can't be bothered to cook. We probably do have supermarket curries every couple of weeks though.

Take away once a week here. Eat out once a week.

MrsItsNoworNotatAll · 21/08/2015 19:38

We used to have a takeaway every Sunday evening till we realised we were spending close to £50 a month so we stopped. I missed it, it was a treat as now and then we rarely went out but we had to economise and this one of the many things that had to stop.

Might have one every 2 months nowadays. Truthfully if money wasn't an issue we'd still have one a week as it's cheaper than going out for meal in a restaurant.

I used to work in a take away, once a week nothing wrong with that. we had one who ordered nearly the same delivery every day, I often wondered how she could afford it.

We used to have takeaways most weeks and would usually have an asda CYO Pizza with salad on a Saturday evening but we stopped that a year or so ago. Now we have a couple of meals out a month ( nandos usually but maybe m&c or bella Italian) and rarely it take away food. No change in weight or bank balance!

I had one tonight - our first in 4 months.

Never.

I see the main benefit as it being a time saver and from a speed point of view, I can cook frozen fish and chips quicker than DH can go and get it from the shop, and mine enjoy it - so I don't bother.

Personally, I like chinese and indian - but save that for a meal out with friends.

DH would rather go and buy components from the local supermarket and bung it in the oven rather than get a takeaway! (Not such a bad option actually having recently seen the published hygiene status of the local fast food restaurants)

We don't as a family my oh eats cobs etc during work if that counts.
For us we only have indian takeaway (I'm a veggie and fussy!) its expensive so we only have it couple of times a year normally although I've had it 3 times during this pregnancy!
My family (mum, sis etc) have chip shop every single week and Chinese often on a sat night and oh family similar so maybe it is quite usual.

Yes once a week ish and we eat out once a week too, if not more. I'm not too anxious about it. I enjoy it obviously, wouldn't indulge otherwise.
