I'm 'working' at home and just watched this with my lunch mainly because there's nothing else on to dip into for 10 minutes.

What the actual hell is up with this programme?

I watched the segment where they had a phone-in with A-level results students. The agony aunt (Denise?) was offering advice when she clearly had no fucking clue what she was talking about. They had a girl ring in who wasn't sure if she'd been offered a place because she'd just missed her grades. Erm, maybe phone the fucking university rather than Eamonn Holmes Confused

Last Friday I watched it for about 10 minutes and had the delight of seeing Marvin and Rochelle try their hand at presenting Hmm. I can't understand a bloody word he says and she seems actually simple.

Does anybody actually watch this fucking shit? I feel like my IQ has dropped by about 20%. Eurgh.

I completely agree.

Don't tell me that Denise woman is still on there Shock

swooosh · 13/08/2015 12:45

I just saw this too, what a load of shite. Eamonn just spends his time yabbering on about himself. Boring.

WorraLiberty · 13/08/2015 12:47

Does anybody actually watch this fucking shit?

Yes, you! Grin

MissEeerie · 13/08/2015 12:47

Last time I watched it I could actually feel my brain turning to fluff.

Alisvolatpropiis · 13/08/2015 12:58

I tried watching it at the start of my maternity leave.

It is abominable shit made for stupid people.

I didn't watch it again.

JeterandPane · 13/08/2015 12:58

WorraLiberty Shock I watched for about 10 minutes whilst I was eating my soup. TBH, I stayed watching to see how much of a car crash it was. Maybe that's what all their viewers are doing!!

JeterandPane · 13/08/2015 12:59

Verity Oh yes, Denise still on there. It sounds awfully ageist but I do think she's completely past it, is very slow and has very little idea about the 'modern' world

I watch it on my day off while I do the ironing. It's a wonderful escape from the pressures of running a business, dealing with two live in post teenagers, an ageing husband and an elderly Mother. Wonderful to hear other people's problems that I will never have to deal with again.

Do prefer Schofield to Eamonn & Ruth. Often wonder if they end up having a massive row on the way home.

One day a week and I enjoy it. Loose Women hacks me off though for some reason.

StillStayingClassySanDiego · 13/08/2015 13:07

Grin It was fantastic back in the day of Richard and Judy.

I've watched it during the school holidays [whilst doing others things], it's fluffy but I quite enjoy it, I like Eamonn and Ruth but Denise needs to bugger off, perhaps advertise Wiltshire Farm Foods.

I like fluffy!

derxa · 13/08/2015 13:08

Philip Schofield and Amanda Holden are beyond awful. So patronising and smug as if they are a different species compared to the people they interview. I enjoyed it in the days of R & J. i would sit BF quite happily and watch without having to think too much.

JanineMelnitzGlasses · 13/08/2015 13:10

I'll gladly watch trash TV (millionaire matchmaker anyone?) because that's exactly what it is. But I find This Morning, Loose Women, Kyle, even the daytime news really patronising. I know they have to aim the programme at the lowest common demonitor but seriously?!

StillStayingClassySanDiego · 13/08/2015 13:10

I loved Richard, you never actually knew what he might come out with next, Judy would be looking at him like Hmm.

He was quite Alan Partridge like. Grin

JeterandPane · 13/08/2015 13:14

Oh yes I used to love it when R&J were on, of course!!

Janine I love shit TV but that kind of shit TV knows it's shit TV IYSWIM. This Morning is pretending to be some kind of better class of informative, useful magazine programme whereas it's just, actually, bollocks.

This Morning harks back to the days when Judy Finnegan all the viewers started on the gin and Valium at nine am, and were too out of it to follow anything challenging. Good times.

yogababymum · 13/08/2015 13:18

YANBU utter pish! It's for the simple minded much like the rest of day time TV.

Sometimesjustonesecond · 13/08/2015 13:31

I used to love it back in the Richard and Judy days. Maybe it was just because I was younger but it seemed less like car crash tv (barring some of Richard's more excrutiating interviews).

Now it's just like watching Jeremy Kyle

FabulousFudge · 13/08/2015 13:40

YANBU!

Skeppers · 13/08/2015 13:47

Thank fuck for Netflix/Sky On Demand is all I can say! Have been on mat leave for the last 2.5 weeks and have managed to avoid all crappy daytime TV thus far!

(Except 'Escape to the Country' which is obviously fabulous)

alrayyan · 13/08/2015 13:56

We never watch anything that hasn't been fashioned from lentils and highly educational.....but I do know about these programmes

Big Brother (is absolute shite but I happened to glimpse it when I was at the hairdressers)

Jeremy Kyle (oh the dilemma, really want to smug about the ghastly people but then they will know I watch it)

Jeremy Kyle (what awful people. I only glimpsed it when I popped round to pay my cleaner)

GBBO (well we do catch it sometimes. its utter tripe but my children enjoy the baking tips.)

Wink Wink Wink

JeterandPane · 13/08/2015 14:01

Skeppers Escape to the Country is awesome but sometimes too much of that seeing the local area and doing something horrendously boring in a field rather than looking around other people's houses to see how they're decorated and what horribly ornaments people have househunting.

DawnoftheDoggers Star I completely agree. My DM loves Emmerdale and insists we watch it when we visit. It makes me want to boil my own head.

OP posts:
MrsSippy · 13/08/2015 14:39

Oi!! Say what you like about This Morning, but leave Emmerdale alone Angry
