I'm 'working' at home and just watched this with my lunch mainly because there's nothing else on to dip into for 10 minutes.

What the actual hell is up with this programme?

I watched the segment where they had a phone-in with A-level results students. The agony aunt (Denise?) was offering advice when she clearly had no fucking clue what she was talking about. They had a girl ring in who wasn't sure if she'd been offered a place because she'd just missed her grades. Erm, maybe phone the fucking university rather than Eamonn Holmes Confused

Last Friday I watched it for about 10 minutes and had the delight of seeing Marvin and Rochelle try their hand at presenting Hmm. I can't understand a bloody word he says and she seems actually simple.

Does anybody actually watch this fucking shit? I feel like my IQ has dropped by about 20%. Eurgh.

I used to love TM when it was Fern and Phil. They were great together. I think Phil and Holly are better than Eamomn and Ruth?! Going on maternity leave in November so will find out!

The80sweregreat · 13/08/2015 19:29

Gave up years ago. Didn't mind Richard n Judy days too much, although he was a bit of a prick sometimes. Fern Britton was okish, but her constant laughing with Phil got to me so haven't watched since. Too many ads, its time it was culled. But, i imagine , its better than Kyle.

NoArmaniNoPunani · 13/08/2015 19:43

I rather like judge Rinder.

BettyCatKitten · 13/08/2015 19:43

I used to watch it years ago in the 90's whilst on mat leave.
Couldn't watch it now, ditto the awfulness that is Loose women.

squoosh · 13/08/2015 19:45

It looked like a better show when it was filmed with the backdrop of the Albert Dock. The set looks cheapo supremo now.

Eamonn holmes is just unwatchable when he's presenting he looks as bored as the viewers do watching him. He's so inappropriate and says cringey things. I would smack him in the chops if I was Ruth.

Amanda Holden's laugh made it impossible for me to watch when she was on.

Phillip Schofield is ok but Holly Willoughby seems a bit thick and does Celebrity Juice so not sure why we should take her seriously.

Homes Under the Hammer is the best daytime telly, and of course the MN favourite Wanted Down Under with Nickypopidol.

BettyCatKitten · 13/08/2015 20:20

I love homes under the hammer!

jellyjiggles · 13/08/2015 20:22

They all turn your brain to mush and make you dribble within minutes.

Jeremy Kyle doesn't have guests he has contestants.

Loose Women is a travesty to feminism!

This Morning is just drivel. Unimportant overdramatised crap. Denise gives appalling advice. It's like asking your 90year old great aunt for advice on sex when your 30. "Pull your nightie down afterwards my dear" Confused

Judge Rinder is like the intelligent middle class scoffing at the lower (less fortunate) minions of society.

Radio 4 is like the intellectual light bulb of daytime!

Sparklingbrook · 13/08/2015 20:24

HUTH is very educational

Depending on the panel The Wright Stuff can be hugely entertaining. I love to see someone from Blue reviewing the important news of the day.
Lowri Turner=instant switch off though.

Sometimesjustonesecond · 13/08/2015 20:31

I have a soft spot for Antony Costa and will happily watch him reviewing the papers on the Wright Stuff Wink

I do get irritated by how Matthew Wright cuts people off if they disagree with him. If you are going to host a chat show that invites public opinion, it's only polite to let them speak! That said, I like the topics and most of the guests.

Sparklingbrook · 13/08/2015 20:34

What Anthony 'piss up the cashpoint' Costa? Shock

squoosh · 13/08/2015 20:39

You fancy Anthony Costa?!

Mrsjayy · 13/08/2015 20:48

Denise is hilarious with her sincerity och its harmless shite really its like flicking through a Take a break at the dentist I watch it sometimes but i cant cope with the full 2 hours

Mrsjayy · 13/08/2015 20:51

Dd was watching Nick knowles shouting about stuff this morning i could have done with some Eamon and Ruth today

Sparklingbrook · 13/08/2015 21:00

Mrsjayy I think that was 'Close Calls' where Nick shows us people almost, but not quite killing themselves. Which is nice.

Mrsjayy · 13/08/2015 21:02

Yeah somebody got knocked off a bike it was tense but he was fine in the end segment showed him getting knockec off a few times just so we know how serious it was.

Sparklingbrook · 13/08/2015 21:08

Ooh yes, and in slow motion usually. there was a rather horrific motorbike one last week and they just kept showing it, then onto another story, then back to the motorbike crash, and a recap and watch it again. Hmm

Bakeoffcake · 13/08/2015 21:09

Richard and Jusy were ace. It was all innocent in those days, non of this celeb shite it seems to be filled with today.

i listen to radio 4 nowadays.

CarlaJones · 13/08/2015 21:10

Spot on alrayyan Grin

cosmicglittergirl · 13/08/2015 21:16

I really like This Morning, I just let it wash over me after a sleepless night. Blush

Pigriver · 13/08/2015 21:36

I've been on mat leave for the last 3 weeks and I rarely put the tv on during the day as it is all utter tripe. I hate the way they use about 20 mins of actual content and repeat it numerous times to fill an hour. BBC1 seem very good at this. You only need to watch the last 20 mins of HUTH!
Heir Hunters anyone? Look, this lonely person died... Let's find someone who hasn't spoken to them in 40 years (or never met them) and get them to tell us about them?! Why?

Ketchuphidestheburntbits · 13/08/2015 21:52

I quite like watching this morning. It has a nice mix of trash and it's harmless rubbish

Sparklingbrook · 13/08/2015 22:01

Heir Hunters is awful. They have to get to the relatives first before some other company does. It's all a bit cutthroat.

The relatives then pretend to be a bit sad but never mind eh-windfall-yay!

thehypocritesoaf · 13/08/2015 22:07

Three times I've heard judge rinder deal with a tattoo case. And I've only watched three times.

Re. Good morning- you just know that in their programming meeting the ambitious twenty something's are going: what do really thick stay at home mothers want to watch? Ooh I know how to look great on the beach. Nah, that's a bit high brow, I isn't it...'
