I'm 'working' at home and just watched this with my lunch mainly because there's nothing else on to dip into for 10 minutes.

What the actual hell is up with this programme?

I watched the segment where they had a phone-in with A-level results students. The agony aunt (Denise?) was offering advice when she clearly had no fucking clue what she was talking about. They had a girl ring in who wasn't sure if she'd been offered a place because she'd just missed her grades. Erm, maybe phone the fucking university rather than Eamonn Holmes Confused

Last Friday I watched it for about 10 minutes and had the delight of seeing Marvin and Rochelle try their hand at presenting Hmm. I can't understand a bloody word he says and she seems actually simple.

Does anybody actually watch this fucking shit? I feel like my IQ has dropped by about 20%. Eurgh.

Oh god I don't think its ageist - she ( Denise) is completely out of touch with reality let alone the modern world !! Grin

AdeleDazeem · 13/08/2015 14:57

The show somewhat depends on the topics - if they were interviewing Leonardo DiCaprio or Will Smith I would probably flick it on if I happened to be at home and not doing anything else. However if they were talking about the best catfood on the market (I don't have a cat) or testing five different wrinkle creams then I'd find something else to do.

I'm not a fan of Eamonn&Ruth as a presenting team but they're fricking Ant and Dec compared to the Mr. and Mrs. Plank that is the Humes.

I haven't watched Loose Women for years. I used to find it so offensive- heternormative, gender normative bullshit and Andrea McLean makes me want to kill myself fucking smug posh bitch who thinks she's some kinda special

Have you seen that episode in The Simpsons where they show a clip of an American version of Loose Women and call it 'Afternoon Yak' and I think all of the presenters are all half-woman, half-chicken. It's very accurate.

Adele But what about when they're talking about something serious?

Oh the joys of daytime TV.

And Loose Women just talk about the same old crap that's already been covered by This Morning an hour before. Given that they are both ITV, a bit of planning to avoid crossover topics wouldn't go amiss.

Have stopped watching all of it. Am unashamedly shallow but even I draw the line somewhere - I could feel my brain seeping out of my ears the last time I watched ITV daytime telly.

I will not watch JK ever - it is morally wrong to exploit people of low intelligence as a form of entertainment.

pollypocket123 · 13/08/2015 15:19

"Lowest common demonitor" above made me chuckle!

WantToGetLost · 13/08/2015 15:21

Last time I watched it they had a man crash through the window, most pointless thing ever

seaoflove · 13/08/2015 15:24

It's seriously dumbed down over the years just like the rest of ITV's output

I mean it was hardly the South Bank Show when Richard & Judy hosted, but I'm SURE it wasn't quite so awful.

Alisvolatpropiis · 13/08/2015 15:25

Liquorice

I like a bit of low brow television, I just happen to think This Morning is appalling. As is most day time television.

Chardonnay73 · 13/08/2015 15:28

God I cannot BEAR Rochelle!! She is so snidey to Marvin, Who is actually quite inoffensive, but her - God she pushes all of my buttonsConfused So smug, quite why, I do not know.... Hmm

I loved Richard though, you never knew what he was going to come out with, which made entertaining viewing Grin

GloGirl · 13/08/2015 15:56

This Morning reminds me of a women's magazine. About 2 vaguely interesting topics with 3 paragraphs of note. Surrounded by 100 pages of fluffy, tatters and adverts.

GloGirl · 13/08/2015 15:57

Whoops - that should say fluffery and twattery.

alrayyan · 13/08/2015 16:07

I was.bullied for years for being clever and now make a lovely lot of money from it but I am just sitting down to Life on Marbs (which mners won't even know about of course) and bake off.
I love shit telly. I have US and UK tv here. If you hate pretending you don't watch This Morning g you should try Good Morning America or Fix tea time. lovely at Christmas though.

alrayyan · 13/08/2015 16:07

Fox

avocadotoast · 13/08/2015 16:15

Oh god I hate Denise. She has no fucking clue what she's on about. I caught a feature a while back about grandparents who have no contact with their grandchildren and she was basically saying you should always always let gps see gkids pretty much regardless of the situation. Ummm, nope, I'm sure some people have very good reasons to withhold contact!

But Loose Women is above and beyond, it is without doubt the worst thing in TV.

And who else has seen that Judge Rinder travesty? Jesus wept...

MrsSippy · 13/08/2015 16:26

Oh Lordy, Judge Rinder!!!

Like Jeremy Kyle has swallowed a law book...

alrayyan · 13/08/2015 16:52

Jeremy Kyle emergency room...I complained about that oneShock

squoosh · 13/08/2015 16:54

I'm sure they used to have some interesting features back in Ye Olden Dayes of Richard and Judy. Whenever I catch a glimpse of it these days it does indeed look like a load of old shite.

squoosh · 13/08/2015 16:55

Judge Rinder was Benedict Cumberbatch's best man apparently!

I've never seen the show and I'm not tempted either. An elderly aunt is addicted to Judge Judy so I'm assume it's more of the same.

stuckinahole · 13/08/2015 17:01

Just laughed out loud at this

GloGirl · 13/08/2015 17:23

Judge Rinse is excellent shit telly.

BlueThursday · 13/08/2015 19:15

Richard and judy were great - even George Michael used to phone in for a chat Grin
