to ask if you would be disappointed with this present

It's my brother's 30th soon, and I've got him a candle for present. It's a nice, biiig candle from M&S, cost £12 and looks quite cool :) I am not great with presents however, and worry it might seem a bit random / not quite enough to form an actual gift. Should I add more, or would this be suitable for someone's 30th?

personally not many men I know would be into getting candles as presents...

An ex of mine got given tealights by his DB and SIL one Christmas and a man I know gave his sister candles (long ones) one Christmas but most men see them as either decorations for the table (and to give light) and not present worthy.

I would be disappointed ,and I'm a woman.
Unless you specifically that the person really likes candles (I don't) then they're just pointless objects that take up space, a waste of money really.
To be quite honest, I'd rather have nothing because I hate the thoughts of people wasting money or buying things just for the sake of it.
There again, if someone gave me a book token for £10 or a dove gift set I'd be thrilled to bits. Smile

I don't think it's adequate tbh.
