So fed up so far DC have been off almost 5 weeks we've had about 2 days of no rain, we've missed
Picnics in the park with our friends
Nice day trips
Days to the beach making sandcastle a
Riding bikes
Getting the paddling pool out
Playing in the garden the grass is a pile of squelchy mud
Wearing summer clothes from our holiday
Drying washings on the line
Not putting the heating on
Going out means wellies and waterproofs

Honesty it has been dire

Had a very breezy landing in Glasgow today from Amsterdam. So rough out today we couldn't stop to visit DD1's resting place. It's supposed to be better next week - it would be nice to get a couple of camp outs before school goes back.

A German couple sitting in back of us on the plane were on honeymoon and thrilled with the weather. They love Scottish weather in all forms and came here last year to celebrate their engagement. They were gleefully pulling on their jumpers and skipping in the rain. Weirdos!!!

Well, I've just returned our unused new tent to the shop Sad

My bloody basement has flooded 3 times so far this summer hols with the stupid summer downpours we've had and can ScottishBarstardingWater be bothered to come out and fix the pipes? Can they heck....

Christinayanglah · 04/08/2015 22:42

No offence but this thread has cheered me up. We miss living in scotland for so many reasons. It's nice to be reminded of some of the benefits of being south ;-)

I've been in Wales since Saturday. Cardiff. Saturday and Sunday were lovely. I even exposed my arms to the sun on Sunday for ten minutes.

Yesterday not too bad either. This morning rained and then been grey and windy most of the day. But not too cold

I bet it was awful at home!

lets hope it will be an Indian summer...all the way to Christmas!

AmIthatsummery · 05/08/2015 16:01

I'm glad it's cheered you up Cadenza

It's depressing me.

It's been dire this year. I don't expect much sunshine in the summer but 1 week would have been nice. We appear to have gone from spring straight to Autumn this year and skipped summer altogether.

We've had the heating on 2 nights in July because it got so cold. I have not worn my sandals once this year and the pair I bought for DD have been outgrown now but still new with tags on Angry. I have spent the past week searching for new boots for myself and DD because my old ones leak and her feet have grown so last years are too small. Apparently the shops only cater to people with London weather at the moment as I have been unable to find anything suitable.

I actually really like autumn and winter - cosy nights by the fire, crisp mornings, wrapping up in cosy jumpers etc but not so much in July / August.

Could be worse. The Middle east are having a really bad heatwave.. 55 degrees in Baghdad city today.

Greengardenpixie · 05/08/2015 23:55

Just outside Glasgow, it has been raining mostly every day since i came back from 38 degree wall to wall blue skies of Europe. It does almost make it worse knowing how lovely it can be when its sunny. Today i woke up to a really strong wind and rain. Its mostly rained all summer FFS. So glad i have read this thread. I thought i was the only one that felt short changed [ and i have been away!]

I'm looking out the window at work and can actually see some blue sky.

It's ridiculous how happy that has made me

LoisWilkersonsLastNerve · 06/08/2015 14:25

Tiny bit of sun here. My washing is out for the first day in weeks. I'm in Lanarkshire. The odd shower I can handle but its been and windy into the bargain!

LoisWilkersonsLastNerve · 06/08/2015 14:25

*cold and windy

Greengardenpixie · 06/08/2015 14:34

Well it started cloudy, brightened up..then the rain came on...now its sunny :) but not warm :(

prettybird · 06/08/2015 16:56

Ds has a cycle race this evening - it's at a Go-Kart circuit so really dangerous if it's wet as the rubber makes it slippy so he didn't pre-enter. Fingers crossed that the rain stays off! Hmm

KissMyFatArse · 06/08/2015 16:59

Went to calderglen park today? Was Nice and stayed dry. Back home and suns out. Was starting to forget what it looked like.

Supposed to be nice tomorrow so blairdrummond here we come!

OOAOML · 06/08/2015 18:08

I had my sunglasses on and no jacket when I went out at lunchtimeSmile But I work in the centre of Edinburgh so it took me ages with all the tourists randomly stopping in the middle of the pavement.

AmIthatsummery · 06/08/2015 19:23

My street is busy. Kids playing. People cutting the grass. It's brilliant

prettybird · 06/08/2015 22:04

Nice and sunny at ds' race. Although we can never be satisfied: the low sun made taking photos really difficult as it was into the sun. Smile

OOAOML · 06/08/2015 22:42

Wrong kind of sun Prettybird Wink
