So fed up so far DC have been off almost 5 weeks we've had about 2 days of no rain, we've missed
Picnics in the park with our friends
Nice day trips
Days to the beach making sandcastle a
Riding bikes
Getting the paddling pool out
Playing in the garden the grass is a pile of squelchy mud
Wearing summer clothes from our holiday
Drying washings on the line
Not putting the heating on
Going out means wellies and waterproofs

Honesty it has been dire

Yep, it feels like Autumn at the moment. My teen dses have barely out the door and it is driving us all mental.

nulgirl · 31/07/2015 22:42

I travel to London quite often for work so I've seen how nice it has been down there. Getting a glimpse actually makes it worse. Traipse down there, sweat for a few days in my office clothes then come back up here to "enjoy" my leisure time with the kids in the pissing rain.

EddieStobbart · 31/07/2015 22:42

This is more than a wash out summer, it's on another level. I walk though Princes St Gardens every day on my way to work, it's like winter with all the thick coats and woolly hats!

bearleftmonkeyright · 31/07/2015 22:42

We are going to Aberdeenshire (to see relatives) and then Fort Willy for last two weeks of August. Its my fault, every time we plan a holiday it always pisses it down. Last year we did the same holiday and the weather was pretty good but the head gasket blew in the car and we had to be rescued back from Derbyshire.

AmIthatsummery · 31/07/2015 22:45

I've got the heating on

Not only is it freezing, but I need to get clothes dried

I am very, very depressed about this, it is genuinely more like November than fucking July

EddieStobbart · 31/07/2015 22:45

I think the Scottish Government needs to order an enormous patio heater and position it somewhere central, Falkirk perhaps.

sweetkitty · 31/07/2015 22:48

I'm writing to the SNP wee Nicola needs to sort it out pronto or at least reimburse me for the sandals I've bought!

I spent many summers visiting relatives in the Highlands.

It pissed down every single time. All week.

You can't blame me this time though. I'm nowhere near you.

Weather isn't great here either though.

tilliebob · 31/07/2015 22:49

Tried sleeping out in the tent in the back garden twice, as youngest dc was gutted it kept being put off.

1st time - driven inside by heavy torrential rain at 4.30am one morning.

2nd time - driven inside by mental winds at 5.00am - tent outer actually blew away and was caught on the fence.

These two attempts were 3 weeks apart ConfusedConfused

Kreeshsheesh · 31/07/2015 22:51

Socks in bed here! The weather here has been truly awful.

Dowser · 31/07/2015 22:51

Not in Scotland thank god even though my ancestry is Scottish but I've had the heating on most days.

It's just shite!

I'm going down south. I might not come back!

sweetkitty · 31/07/2015 22:53

Oh and pissed off with all the photos of the lovely blue moon on lovely summers nights on FB.

We get to see the moon once in a blue moon as it is!

The street lights are still on in the morning and my cars automatic headlights come on during the day.

Dowser · 31/07/2015 22:57

I started a post about having the heating on in June. Well it's hardly been off in july!

Mrsjayy · 31/07/2015 22:59

My eldest is going to spain in two weeks she said all the shops have their clothes on sale oh have they thats nice Angry

sweetkitty · 31/07/2015 23:01

Dog refused to go out for a pee as its torrential rain just now, off to bed in my fleecy Jammie's and 15 tog duvet.

I think we should get a big chainsaw but Scotland off from England and float it to the Med. That's not anti English but their weathers decent they can stay where they are Wink

Risk of sunburn in Scotland this summer - 0%

Risk of sodding trench foot in Scotland this summer - 100%

I am off to IKEA to buy a flat pack Ark, and when I have located the Alan key and assembled it, I will be gathering the animals, two by two.

Mrsjayy · 31/07/2015 23:05

Cloudhowe63 · 31/07/2015 23:11

I predict pavement splitting sunshine - 2days after the schools go back.
Sad

Usually we get one or two decent weeks when everyone goes mad, big sunburnt boobs everywhere and that's just the men, the smell of non stop BBQs and a whole load of white flesh on display.
