To wonder how many cover ups there are and what we're not being told?

I've never really believed in conspiracy theories and thought people who thought there is any kind of truth in them were a bit odd/strange, but since the whole Jimmy Savile thing Im finding myself wondering more and more about what we're not being told things. Years ago I used to post on another forum and people on there were always hinting that Savile was a pervert and then the moderators would come along and ban people for libel and posts would get removed, but it turns out it was all true.

Now today I've just watched an Australian current affairs show attempting to expose a pedophile ring at the very heart of the British establishment, why aren't the UK media doing this? I feel so disturbed. What aren't we being told?

AIBU to wonder how many cover ups there are actually are? Everything is starting to feel a bit unreal, like one big lie.

LB is Leon Brittan. He's dead so I don't think there's any issue with naming him?

KenAdams · 22/07/2015 19:14

Jus came on to post the Sky News story too. I know who LB is now!

Jen1610 · 22/07/2015 19:15

Re the 800 children in a grave. I watched a programme within the past couple of years that basically was about workhouses etc or unmarried women's homes.

There was a woman who had been sent to one with five children. From the age of a couple of weeks old up to about six. The children were separated from her and were basically just abandoned in dark rooms whilst the mothers were taken away to dorms at nights and worked during the days.

Everyone of her children died and were buried on site in an unmarked grave.

It's horrific but over the space of 35 years it could easily amount to that figure when you include premature babies or babies born with difficulty in birth. Disease would of been rife etc.

I reckon if you went and dug up the grounds of other similar establishments for unmarried women and workhouses etc a very high no of children'a remain would also be found.

Dowser · 22/07/2015 19:16

I must admit I haven't heard about that one. Maybe there's a local group digging.
A bit like Real Whitby who have done some amazing stuff with the Jimmy savile/ Peter Jaconelli connection.

Sansarya · 22/07/2015 19:16

The Australian 60 Minutes episode is on YouTube and well worth a watch. It names the figures who are dead and at one point one of the victims confirms that two of his abusers are currently in the Lords, but they are not named. And it ends with a jaw-dropping lay sickening interview with a former member of PIE.

toffeeboffin · 22/07/2015 19:22

I think there is a hell of a lot that we are not being told. And I think a lot of it is in the higher rungs of society.

Why people don't question the Royals and all their enormous extended family is beyond me. Not only from a sociological point of view but also that they are never accountable for any of their actions!

They are dreading the day the digging begins. Never mind the Nazi salute, that is small fry.

lastuseraccount123 · 22/07/2015 19:26

I don't understand that either toffee.

a healthy dose of skepticism re: royal family would be healthy imo

toffeeboffin · 22/07/2015 19:34

The Royals must wake up every day thrilled to bits that no-one questions them, their roles or their actions.

Yoiu know, all the idiots getting up at 6am to catch the train, work all day, 5 days a week for a pittance.

I don't get it. I really don't. And people line the streets to see them!

Nothing has changed. It's still Lord and Serf. And its getting worse.

achieve15 · 22/07/2015 19:39

Surprised at people not knowing about LB - it was quite well reported wasn't it? And the chair of the inquiry had to be changed because of links along the chain?

Fantasyland - you said "With regards alien cover ups, why is it always in America aliens are found?"

As I said before, I'm really not into conspiracy theory so I might be completely wrong but I've got it in my head there's quite a famous case of alleged alien activity near an army base in the 70s or something? I cannot remember the name of it but I do remember when I first heard of it, I asked my colleagues and the older ones did remember it.

This thread is making me wonder about something else now - is this conspiracy business catching? Grin I remember reading something about the children taken from their families in the Orkneys. One of the things that stunned me was that a social worker apparently saw an academic's gown in the house and thought it was a sign of Satanism?! At the time I read it, I thought, you cannot possibly take a child away using that as one of your reasons. Now I think the whole Orkneys thing was so mad, is something else behind it?

Other random point - not conspiracy based but something I do believe in. I remember hearing a lady from an organisation who helped women who had been trafficked into the sex trade speak at an event, and she said for some of the rich and powerful they are so detached from humanity, it just becomes a case of "I want that individual, therefore I will have them" and if they are not part of your elite club, they don't see a person anyway.

Then I think about my lovely local MP and wonder if I'm just losing my mind.

Dowser · 22/07/2015 19:42

Also toffee, there's never been an explanation about those missing children on the queens honeymoon.

Also on that thread I posted a link to.

It's the jimmy savile / prince Charles connection that really intrigues me.

When you think how people are vetted before they get within a couple of yards of the queen, he gets to counsel Charles and Diana on the state of their marriage.

I mean, he looked a sleazy slime ball before all this news broke after his death.. Did anyone see the Justin Theroux interview ? Wasn't that the weirdest thing, and his disclosure of going into the shower clothed where his clothes got a wash. Eeeuw. Minger!

It just beggars belief.

I personally think all of these ( faded) celebs are just distractions. Like tossing a bone to a dog to keep us away from the real meat.

Dowser · 22/07/2015 19:48

You have to keep grounded achieve as it can blow your mind. It attacks everything you grew up believing in and it blows out of the water.

When I read that Savile thread and told my family, they thought I was mad.

Just keep investing in nature. Mother Earth is beautiful with a lot of good, really good people supported by her. There's a lot of people doing some good works.

ComposHatComesBack · 22/07/2015 19:52

The world of the conspiracy theorist is an odd one. They take the sheer lack of evidence as sign of a cover up and anyone who calls them on the fact their clains are baseless or fanciful gets derided as a dope or an establishment lackey.

Llareggub · 22/07/2015 19:58

There's a premiership footballer who shares a name with Leon Britton, poor chap.

Got to give it to David Icke, he always said Jimmy Saville was evil.

achieve15 · 22/07/2015 20:00

Dowser - oh I'm not in danger of getting carried away. there are many things I wouldn't give any weight to. I just found that Orkneys thing really striking in how odd it was.

I was providing the info on aliens in case anyone was interested.

I do think the Man on the Moon must be taking great pains to stop people invading his privacy though Grin

toffeeboffin · 22/07/2015 20:05

Sorry, just realised I've gone a bit off piste with my rant about the Royals.

As you were, comrades.

toffeeboffin · 22/07/2015 20:07

Just read your post, Dowser, Prince Charles and Jimmy Saville?? Wtf?! Not heard that one, doesn't surprise me though!

YouTheCat · 22/07/2015 20:10

Wan't there a similar case to the Orkney one in Middlesborough or Stockton? Where a large number of children were taken away from their parents and it all came to nothing.

Alisvolatpropiis · 22/07/2015 20:12

Missing children on the queen's honeymoon?

Jen1610 · 22/07/2015 20:16

Just read about the Queens honeymoon. very strange.

lastuseraccount123 · 22/07/2015 20:25

can someone post a link to the queen's honeymoon thing? can't seem to find it online

Eternalsunshines · 22/07/2015 20:28

Place marking, am googling all these things!

dirtyprettything · 22/07/2015 20:50

Roswell is the famed UFO conspiracy theory

Sansarya · 22/07/2015 20:52

The Queen's honeymoon? You don't mean the stories about the Canadian children? That was allegedly in the 60s and I don't think I believe it.

Dowser · 22/07/2015 20:56

Something on this page about the Cleveland inquiry.

The 800 children in a mass grave with no death records absolutely sickened me.

And it's yet another example of the atrocities committed in the name the Catholic Church where no-one, absolutely no-one, is held to account for their crimes.
