Hello today I went out with DDS and some friends. I parked my car and was about to go in to eat when some idiot tried to park next to me. I asked her politely to unroll her window and move as she was tailgating and too close to my car far my liking. She moved but was huffing and puffing and sighing and complained before finally giving in. Aibu to think she was acting immature and rude as she messed up my schedule so DD and my friends had to run ahead to reserve a table without me when I wanted us all to sit together.

Yabu.

Wideopenspace · 17/07/2015 21:26

She was tailgating? So behind you?

Don't understand the issue...

TRexingInAsda · 17/07/2015 21:26

You WBU.

FenellaFellorick · 17/07/2015 21:26

Was she not parked within the lines of a marked parking bay?

ButtonBoo · 17/07/2015 21:26

Is this a reverse?

KatoPotato · 17/07/2015 21:27

How do you tailgate a parked car?

CitrineRaindropPhoenix · 17/07/2015 21:27

It was you. You were rude and precious. She gave in to avoid arguing.

tootiredtothink · 17/07/2015 21:27

Yabu

EeyoresTail · 17/07/2015 21:27

Someone wanted to park next to you and you thought they were being unreasonable? I don't understand. If there was a space marked next to you what was the problem?

fastdaytears · 17/07/2015 21:28

Huh? So you were late because you hung around to complain that she was tailgating your stationary car? Confused

Even if your irritation was valid, how late can that really have made you?

HookedOnHooking · 17/07/2015 21:30

Some people really do live in completely different worlds to me.

I simply don't understand. Please elaborate.

londonrach · 17/07/2015 21:31

Very confused..tailgating a parked car..

Hygge · 17/07/2015 21:32

Just from that, it sounds like you were unreasonable.

How was she tailgating if you were already parked and she was parking next to you?

And why did your friends not reserve a table that had space for you all?

I don't get what your schedule has to do with it, you were the one asking her to move. Were you in a proper car par with proper spaces? What were you going to do if someone else parked in the space next to yours?

ilovesooty · 17/07/2015 21:32

Bizarre.

MrsGentlyBenevolent · 17/07/2015 21:32

Either this is a reverse, I haven't read it properly or you are supremely unreasonable, and entitled.

BitchPeas · 17/07/2015 21:32

Did you both start to park at the same time in spaces next to each other and her car was coming too close to yours?

fastdaytears · 17/07/2015 21:32

Hang on, was the delay because you read the Highway Code cover to cover to try to find out what tailgate actually means?

IFinishedTheBiscuits · 17/07/2015 21:35

The "missed up your schedule" thing makes me think either you WBU, or it was you who held up someone else and you think they were being unreasonable by getting annoyed.

If your friends had ran ahead to reserve a table surely you wouldn't have been waiting any longer to eat than if you had ran with them and you still would have sat together? Surely it only took a couple of mins to ask woman to move. YADefinatlyBU

bluefay · 17/07/2015 21:35

First she was tailgating me she was driving behind me far too closely then she parked her car too close to mine.

ilovesooty · 17/07/2015 21:36

Still bizarre.

GraysAnalogy · 17/07/2015 21:36

YWBU

HookedOnHooking · 17/07/2015 21:36

May I suggest you get out more often?

fastdaytears · 17/07/2015 21:36

Ok so tailgating and parking were separate issues I get it.

Was she in the white lines and were you?
