Hello today I went out with DDS and some friends. I parked my car and was about to go in to eat when some idiot tried to park next to me. I asked her politely to unroll her window and move as she was tailgating and too close to my car far my liking. She moved but was huffing and puffing and sighing and complained before finally giving in. Aibu to think she was acting immature and rude as she messed up my schedule so DD and my friends had to run ahead to reserve a table without me when I wanted us all to sit together.

As I said earlier, YWBU. You sound a bit, er, uptight.

chairmeoh · 17/07/2015 22:04

To be fair, I know that when we go to McDonald's it's often difficult to get a seat all together if you don't arrive together.

fastdaytears · 17/07/2015 22:04

So confused about how you didn't end up sat together, unless your friends just didn't want to hear any more about the evils of tailgating...

Snore....

HarrietSchulenberg · 17/07/2015 22:06

Snort! If I'd parked inside a bay and you told me to move because I was too close "for your liking", I'd have laughed in your silly, uptight face and told you to f* off.

"Huffing and puffing" showed admirable restraint.

TheRealAmyLee · 17/07/2015 22:10

In a car park if people are parked in the bays I don't see an issue? If someone messed up parking and is over the lines then move along a few spaces and park correctly and then it won't affect you. If you are super precious park on the end of a row.

I don't get the table thing? Surely if you are meeting friends at a restaurant you have either already reserved a table for you ALL OR first person in finds somewhere with enough space for you ALL?

NeedsAsockamnesty · 17/07/2015 22:11

You made yourself late.

You caused the entire silly problem

Because you made an issue out of something that is perfectly normal.

MothertotheLordsofmisrule · 17/07/2015 22:12

Wha?

Need more wine to be able to process this non issue.

MrsMummyPig · 17/07/2015 22:13

Now I'm even more confused. Seriously, can anyone please explain to me why somebody would have to get rid of a car because of a tailgater Confused

Ashwinder · 17/07/2015 22:15

Oh FFS. So she parked next to you in a marked bay and then you had a go at her? And you think you were right to do that? Ye gods. YABVU.

bluefay · 17/07/2015 22:19

I had to get rid of my old car as the tailgater created a severe dent in my car.

kali110 · 17/07/2015 22:22

No, it's you.

HarrietSchulenberg · 17/07/2015 22:23

Sigh. So you asked someone to move their car because someone else once drove up the back of you?

You really are the gift that keeps on giving, aren't you?

StayWithMe · 17/07/2015 22:23

Need more wine to be able to process this non issue.

Thank feck! I thought it was only me.

Let me get this straight OP? You parked close to the woman's white line because someone else parked too closely in the box the other side of you? Then you bitched because she parked correctly?

GrumpyOldBiddy2 · 17/07/2015 22:24

So you need to park further away from the original badly parked car and stop trying to control everyone else to collude with your overvalued ideas.

MrsMummyPig · 17/07/2015 22:26

This thread is hilarious Grin

FenellaFellorick · 17/07/2015 22:28

Ok, I see.

Yes, I think based on what you say, it appears you had an overreaction to something of no importance and made more of it than needed.

MissPenelopeLumawoo2 · 17/07/2015 22:28

I would have moved if you had asked me in the circumstances you describe, but only because you sound utterly crazy and I would have worried that I would have come back and found my car keyed otherwise. Did she park behind you or to one side? How can someone tailgate you from the side??

PinkSquash · 17/07/2015 22:31

Are you an actor OP? Because you love the drama.

GrumpyOldBiddy2 · 17/07/2015 22:32
