Places you've not been before - anywhere in the world? Singapore was at the top of my list, but I went in 2009. Choose 3.

Vancouver

Trieste in Italy.

The Orkney Islands.

Nicki I'm desperate to go to the Bahamas, what didn't you like?

TTWK · 08/07/2015 20:48

Japan in cherry blossom season

Sakura. It's fantastic. Usually early April in Tokyo, a bit earlier further south and a bit later in the north. Exceeded all my expectations.

Getthewonderwebout · 08/07/2015 20:54

Vegas
Honolulu
San Francisco

JugglingFromHereToThere · 08/07/2015 21:05

I've done most of Europe and had a few farther flung adventures ...

3 most pressing still on the list ...

China
Africa - I know it's a big continent but proper Africa (have been to Egypt for amazing snorkeling in the Red Sea) - somewhere like Tanzania where I could chase up long lost distant cousins
Thailand, Costa Rica or other rainforest with the DC - and DH to show us all the wildlife. Have been to both but want to go back now with dd and ds Smile
Never been to India either - make that my fourth!

Dreamiesrcatopium · 08/07/2015 21:10

Mine ate more "win the lottery"destinations. I can't walk very far at all and long haul flights hurt my back. So...

New York-witj enough money for a driver to take us to all the sights/shops/foodie places.

Australia- business class/first class flights.

Thailand- same as above and all intrnal flights not buses etc, good hotels.

Safari- luxury.

morningsarepants · 08/07/2015 21:14

Yes, I heard the Bahamas was abit disappointing.

Cuba is fine though although it's a big ten years since I was there.

FrugalFashionista · 08/07/2015 21:40

Downgraded I've traveled in Russia quite a bit and want to go where their ethnic food is from... Wink

I think quite a few places are not that special when you actually live there, but they can still be unforgettable for a visitor. But I enjoy new places, new languages, trying to cope and picking up a few new words.

I'm really enjoying the fantasy travel here!

Crosbybeach · 08/07/2015 22:24

Dowser We took our 2yo up to Les Lindarets a few months ago to "see the goats". They obviously aren't there in the winter Blush but we had a lovely time drinking wine and eating cheese.

My 3 are

Cartagena in Columbia.

Japan (Tokyo, skiing, etc)

Malaysia (KL, Tioman, Borneo)

I've been to the Bahamas and Hong Kong. I'm not sure how you could be disappointed with either.

  • Uluru and the 'red centre' of Australia
  • New Orleans

I've also got Africa on my list of places to go before I'm 40, haven't decided yet if it'll be Casablanca, Cape Town or somewhere in between but hey I've got four years to make up my mind!

Zanzibaragain · 09/07/2015 08:39

So the main ones left are;
Argentina
Sri Lanka
Belize

Also been loads of times to the USA and Canada too, definitely will return many more times I hope.

SquirrelledAway · 09/07/2015 09:38

Also been lucky enough to do lots of travelling, both through work and holidays. My bucket list:

Chile and Argentina
New Zealand - although I suspect once I get there I'd want to stay
A big road trip - anywhere involving taking our time and not feeling the need to follow a schedule

BsshBosh · 09/07/2015 09:39

I've been blessed with having travelled wildly but my bucket list is:

Pacific Northwest coastal route (Califirnia, Oregon)
Norwegian Fiords
Tuscany by a lake (return visit)

SocietyClowns · 09/07/2015 09:42

Absolutely nothing on my list Sad. Glad I am not the only one as I was getting a little worried. I am honestly not bothered if I never go anywhere again...

antimatter · 09/07/2015 09:44

St Petersburg
Japan "road" trip
Zambia

serialgrannie · 09/07/2015 09:46

Lovely thread. We are retired and working through our bucket list. Favourite destinations visited so far:

Peru
Burma (fantastic country, wonderful people and food)
Costa Rica
Norway
New Zealand

Are off to Agentina and Chile later this year.

Bucket list remaining:

Australia
Galapagos
Bhutan
Japan
Madagascar

Having said all that, if I could only go on holiday to one place ever again it would be the Isles of Scilly.
