Places you've not been before - anywhere in the world? Singapore was at the top of my list, but I went in 2009. Choose 3.

Vancouver

Trieste in Italy.

The Orkney Islands.

Is it cheating to say round the world ticket.

My elusive three are
Iran
Bolivia
Mongolia

My life goal is 100 countries by the time I am 50. I'm 41 and on 90, so there is hope!

Pepperonipeteczar · 08/07/2015 16:33

AmeliaNeedsHelp · 08/07/2015 18:40

Not like to go to any of them cos DP thinks they aren't safe!

Sickoffrozen · 08/07/2015 18:43

Vietnam
Canada
Berlin

thereisnocheese · 08/07/2015 18:45

OP I studied in Trieste, it really is beautiful! My top three are:

Cook Islands
Bali
Madagascar

resipsa · 08/07/2015 18:47

Antarctica
Japan (booked for 40th and had to cancel as by then was 6 months pregnant)
Belize

EnormousDormouse · 08/07/2015 18:47

Cuba
Laos
Bolivia

And for everyone who has 'Japan in cherry blossom season' on their lists, I cannot recommend it enough. It was mindblowing and I am now an obsessive sakura spotter.

resipsa · 08/07/2015 18:49

Vix - we went to Syria in 07. Loved it. Aleppo, Damascus, Palmyra. What's become of them is beyond criminal.

Iflyaway · 08/07/2015 18:58

Amelia Cuba is absolutely safe! I travelled solo there 3 times already, had an amazing time. The people are wonderful. So is the culture and music.

get there before the yanks descend en masse

I'd say the same for Jamaica as an amazing place... (been 12x, also solo).

3 more on my bucket list:
Ethiopia
Florence
Colombia

SmillasSenseOfSnow · 08/07/2015 19:17

Japan in cherry blossom season Grin Grin Grin

USA (at least New York, Boston, LA I think, preferably some smallish towns too)

Not sure about the third. Somewhere exotic like Bali or Zanzibar since people are talking about the latter being great. Or maybe somewhere rather northern in Norway or Finland or Sweden or something. I've been to Oslo and was unimpressed but I would love to see some actual fjords some time. Maybe I should go and see some in Denmark, since I live here. Far too flat for me here though.

Andrewofgg · 08/07/2015 19:23

Beijing, Taj Mahal, Uluru, Cape Town, Angel Falls, all very boring but I want to see them.

Prague again.

Andrewofgg · 08/07/2015 19:25

Oh and a cruise in North Norwegian waters to see the Midnight Sun. And the train across the USA one way (westward) then go to Canada and take it back to the East Coast.

WordOfTheDay · 08/07/2015 19:43

Isthatcorrect, I have visited Rajastan. Please travel to Jaiselmer when you are there. It was magical. Charmed me far more than Udaipur, Jodhpur, and Jaipur. Note it and make the effort when you are there.

Theas18 · 08/07/2015 19:51

Lovely ideas !

To all who mentioned Iceland definitely do it and go sooner rather than later - tourism is booming year on year- We went ... Shock....7yrs ago as our " big family adventure" before they rated leaving home and it was absolutely fabulous - the tourist free west fjords over the even then a bit touristy golden triangle though.

We are going back and across the centre of the Islam by bus maybe next summer ..

marshmallowpies · 08/07/2015 19:51

Andrewofgg my DPs have just done the boat past the Arctic Circle and seen the midnight sun - that was definitely on my mum's bucket list. I think I can safely say they'd recommend it!

Purplepixiedust · 08/07/2015 19:53
