Places you've not been before - anywhere in the world? Singapore was at the top of my list, but I went in 2009. Choose 3.

Vancouver

Trieste in Italy.

The Orkney Islands.

I must be very boring because honestly I couldn't care less. I hate travelling and can't be arsed. Happy to see these places on the tele and that's fine for me.

Dh travels all over the world for work and one of my dss has wandered around the Far East.

My other ds went to Ireland for a gap year visit so guess he's like me!

Cheap to run. Grin

Only three???? My bucket list is a page and a half of A4!

I guess my top three are:

Japan
Trans-Siberian Railway
Brazil (I've been to Rio, but not the rest of the country)

Lateswim16 · 08/07/2015 10:31

But why? I mean why? It's such a fuss and hassle! Too cold, too hot, injections, bugs, different food, stomach upsets, different customs so watching your step, delayed flights, hours stuck in a coach, dubious accommodation, blah blah blah.

You can stay in your nice house and superimpose your image on the trans Siberian railway. Far more comfy. Grin

JillBYeats · 08/07/2015 10:37

Argentina
New Zealand
St Petersburg

swimmerforlife · 08/07/2015 10:51

Paraguay

Maldives
Canada - been to Vancouver and Calgary but would love to properly explore Canada and do a road trip.

Thats just the start..

Missrubyring · 08/07/2015 10:56

I've never been travelling/ abroad so my list is fairly long, but my top 3 are ...
1 Tornado Alley - I'd love to go to the US in the spring and go Storm Chasing in an armoured vehicle.
2 Australia - mainly for the wildlife.
3 Venice - visit Poveglia Island.

Mermaid36 · 08/07/2015 11:07

Oooh, Hawaii, Cuba and New Zealand!

I'd actually love to go on a cruise (anywhere) but OH won't go anywhere near any sort of seagoing vessel, so that's out unless I leave him at home! Hmm

GirlsonFilm · 08/07/2015 11:11

Villa with pool (near a superb pizzaria) in Tuscany
Swedish Archipelago in late June to maximise the daylight
Sanibel Island (Gulf coast of Florida)

fourquenelles · 08/07/2015 11:12

Orkneys (for Skara Brae)
Alaska (Katmai National Park for the bears)
Trans Siberian Railway (will be watching Joanna Lumley's programme with great interest)

The first two are possibles with a lot of saving but as a single traveller the third would be over £15000 so unless I win the lottery that will have to remain a pipe dream.

velourvoyageur · 08/07/2015 11:13

I've only been to a few places in Europe! So I have loads. We went to the same two countries every year when I was a kid and since then I've just narrowed it down and been going to the same one myself Blush

But, in future:

St. Petersburg
Istanbul
Iran

TheQueenOfSheba · 08/07/2015 11:15

May I ask why Iran, velourvoyageur?

Mine are:

Cuba
Hawaii
Italy.

IsabellaofFrance · 08/07/2015 11:18

Columbia
Morocco
Moscow.

Oxtailchambermaid · 08/07/2015 11:28

Skiing in Canada
Trans Siberian Railway (although I had no idea as a single traveller it would be 15k!?)
Organised tour in North Korea

LadyCassandra · 08/07/2015 11:40

Ningaloo Reef in Western Australia, where you can snorkel with the whale sharks.

There's not many other places I'd like to see. I did a lot of travelling in my early twenties, so covered most things.

LadyCassandra · 08/07/2015 11:41

Oh, and Japan!

YANAgurl1973 · 08/07/2015 11:45

New york (again)
Road trip around the USA
Thailand
India

dollydaydream123 · 08/07/2015 11:48

So interesting because I've been thinking about this a lot lately!

Iceland
Japan
Much more of America (visited Boston/ New York)

Thenapoleonofcrime · 08/07/2015 11:55

Lateswim I'm like you, I read these lists and find them mystifying. How strange to view the world in terms of your visitation of it, and that you could have 'done' a country by visiting it once!

AccordingToOurRecords · 08/07/2015 11:55

Iceland.... That's it!

So many places still to see in the UK.

Spog · 08/07/2015 12:06

bahamas
new york
australia - been before but dying to go back
new zealand
all of south america
namibia
tanzania
china
fiji islands
cook islands
san francisco

Eminado · 08/07/2015 12:09

Cape Town
More of America
ALL of the Caribbean - over and over Grin

pasturesgreen · 08/07/2015 12:10
  1. India
  1. Uganda
  1. Burma

The latter hopefully next year. I do like exotic travel.

winterinmadeira · 08/07/2015 12:18

Morocco
Israel
Japan

velourvoyageur · 08/07/2015 12:20

TheQueen all the history, was doing about Islamic political history for a module this year and found the bits about Persian influence the most interesting, plus it looks so beautiful :)
I liked the bit in Not Without My Daughter when the man starts talking about how much he loved his country and its gardens, if you've seen it.
Doubt I'll be going any time soon though.

ShanghaiDiva · 08/07/2015 12:23

I live in Asia and have visited lots of these places, but still on my list:
Iceland
New York
India
Edinburgh
South America - not visited any of the countries there so much more research needed
Road trip across America. My dad travelled by motorbike from Florida to Texas back in the 1950s.
North Korea
Cape Town
Cairo - but not just now, thanks
Croatia

Impossible to just have 3.
A friend of mine travelled on the Trans Siberian Express and said it was incredibly dull.
