Are my dresses unreasonable for the school run?

I wore the black dress yesterday (see pics) and got a filthy stare off a woman pushing a buggy on the school pick up. I don't think I had my kids with me at that point. I later wore the dress to a Christian youth group, in fact I wore it to the office earlier the same day and it seemed fine. Today I had both kids on the way to school, I was wearing the dark red dress with a black cardigan. I got another long glare from the same woman, it was her staring that made me realise it was her again! I wouldn't wear the dark red dress to the office and I have pinned it to make it less low on the bust. They are both soft jersey dresses. But are they really that bad and does it make a difference whether I'm a mother or on the school run as to whether these outfits are appropriate?

Gawgus hun

Dem legs.

Sparklingbrook · 01/07/2015 10:48

Yep, must definitely be the dress producing all the 'glares'. Confused

Lateswim16 · 01/07/2015 10:48

Pehaps she was thinking about, you know, her own life and,to be brutally honest op,like the rest of the world actually not giving a rats ass what you wear on the school run.

brickinit · 01/07/2015 10:49

She's probably jealous because you are slim, have a good figure and look amazing in that dress.
Some women can be bitches like that.

Are you tall as well, OP?

I have noticed that women (some, not all) will be decidedly frosty towards tall, slim women, but don't mind if someone is short and slim.
They are deemed 'OK'

I don't know why the hate towards tall, slim women Hmm

I might start a thread about it to get some answers!
I'm not tall and slim myself, but my daughter is, and she has had the evil stares more than a few times - always from other women.

MyNameIsPinkiePie · 01/07/2015 10:49

I do sometimes get stares because I look much younger than I am, apparently. Asked the other day if I was my five year old's sister. But I'm pretty sure I was childfree in the black dress. I admit I got a few stares of a different type too...

It may make a difference that the woman was wearing a head scarf so probably Muslim. But we live in a very diverse area and haven't had this happen before. With the hot weather she will have to get use to other woman showing off extra skin.

I'm a bit unsure about flashing cleavage as I didn't have boobs before kids and breastfeeding so I'm still getting use to it. I could wear very revealing tops but there wasn't much to see. I see other woman in cleavage baring tops and think they look great.

Wow, jealousy isn't confined to the school run, eh OP?

StayWithMe · 01/07/2015 10:49

Looks at op's unmade bed to my beautifully made bed and feels a little smug.

I need a life. SadGrin

Icimoi · 01/07/2015 10:50

Betcha she was jealous so am I

CrystalHaze · 01/07/2015 10:51

Oh, FFS Hmm

Oh FFS #2

SophieJenkins · 01/07/2015 10:52

You should see some of the naked people on our school run.

WhereTheFuckIsMyFuckingCoat · 01/07/2015 10:52

I wouldn't worry, it's not as if you've got your boobs shoved up to your chin. like I'd be tempted to do if I hadn't had to have them lopped off

Goshthatsspicy · 01/07/2015 10:53

Oh. My. Goodness.
Your last post! Grin
This will be an ace thread.

PourquoiTuGachesTaVie · 01/07/2015 10:53

Hmm more Muslim bashing.

Sparklingbrook · 01/07/2015 10:53

I am glad mine are at High school. None of this bonkersness about school run appropriate clothing.

usualsuspect333 · 01/07/2015 10:54

Penny drops. Nice bit of stealth racism there. OP

CoogerAndDark · 01/07/2015 10:54

Dammit. Suckered into a stealth anti-Muslim thread.

EponasWildDaughter · 01/07/2015 10:55

I don't think it's particularly revealing though? Or cleavagy. It looks like an office dress. Seriously. I reveal heaps more flesh mooching round tesco.

Confused

I thought OP was going to be in hot pants or a skimpy number. Odd. Perhaps you're imagining your boobs bigger than they are?

Alibabsandthe40Musketeers · 01/07/2015 10:55
Hmm

Right.

TheOriginalSteamingNit · 01/07/2015 10:56

OP looks young and the woman was a Muslim - layers upon layers here! Congrats, OP.

Agree with Usual - not enough likes on facebook!

Sparklingbrook · 01/07/2015 10:57

I think the OP has revealed an awful lot but not by wearing the dress.....

TheOriginalSteamingNit · 01/07/2015 10:57

remember, women are mainly motivated by jealousy, specifically as it relates to other women's looks, and the fact that most of them a bitches, also.

CrystalHaze · 01/07/2015 10:58

Dammit. Suckered into a stealth anti-Muslim thread.

Indeed. Maybe the OP could invest her free time in posting multiple shots of her various outfits on the Britain First fb page and asking them what they think of her being glowered at by a suspected Muslim for daring to be so effortlessly nubile and youthful looking on the school run Wink

RandomFriend · 01/07/2015 10:58

Your dresses look great, OP. Just smile at her the next time you see her, maybe even say "hello" and start a conversation.

usualsuspect333 · 01/07/2015 10:58

Maybe she was staring at your UKIP badge?
