Friend today was Hmm when she saw my nails and said at 28 I was circa 10 years too old to have my nails painted like this.

Opinions please, and feel free to share picture of equally age inappropriate nails.

So many lovely nails here!

Op, ignore your "friend"

I wore all different colours one Christmas. My sister made some kind of bitchy comment, I just said, that's how I wanted them... And actually it's on trend. She made some kind of "where????" Comment and I said, you know what? I don't care, I'm happy with them as they are.

Some people are just joy suckers.

I am 47 (today :) ) I LOVE signature nails! Yours look lovely! I can't wear that blue, but I admire it on others!

Hissy · 25/06/2015 07:57

For those of you with short nails, don't forget that many colours look better on short than long.

As long as you have then shaped, you can absolutely rock some fab colours, so go for it and enjoy!

I have dark red inch long talons nearly all the time. They are my real nails and I get so fed up with people asking where I get them done or if they are fake.

I think I'm too old for the odd one out look but I love it on teens.

YesThisIsMe · 25/06/2015 08:07

Oh you've all inspired me. Dress down day - I'm borrowing DD's nail art pens.

Mrsjayy · 25/06/2015 08:10

Meh never to old for a bit of glitter some folk are just joyless buggers with their age appropriate nonsense, loving all your nails

Mrsjayy · 25/06/2015 08:12

Nail polish gives me the heebie geebies i hate the feel of it so never wear it but I love seeing nice pretty sparkly nails

Bexicles · 25/06/2015 08:20

Love your hungry caterpillar nails sistersofpercy I love nail art, I have about 30 bottles of nail polish last count. Am 37.

dangerrabbit · 25/06/2015 08:22

My colleague had bow nail art done last week and she's in her 60s.

AuntyMag10 · 25/06/2015 08:23

It does look like a child painted it but it's not my nails so you go for it.
Fairy13 yours are very pretty.

Never thought of painted nails as having an age limit.

SistersofPercy Those are fantastic.

Pedestriana · 25/06/2015 09:10

Your friend would have a fit - I've just bleach-bathed my hair and I'm going to colour it purple. Then I'm going to paint my nails. Maybe green, maybe glitter. And wear 'fun' socks.

Cocolepew · 25/06/2015 09:13

OldSu your polish is amazing. Did you buy it or was it done at a salon?
I'm 46 and very rarely don't have glittery nails.

elliejjtiny · 25/06/2015 09:15

Mine and DH's step nans both have glittery gel nails. Both of them are in their 80's.

TorrAlexandra · 25/06/2015 09:29

They're your nails, you can decorate them however you wish!

Shodan · 25/06/2015 09:39

I don't have my fingernails painted (no patience and it always seems to chip- think I'm too clumsy) but always have my toenails done (they are on view throughout the year due to karate training).

Glittery toes are my favourite but I recently bought some black which came with a bottle of tiny black balls of something-or-other- looks like caviar when it's done! Am saving that for winter Grin

Am so having Christmassy nails done this year though.

Shodan · 25/06/2015 09:41

Am 46, btw.

My mother is the only person I know who thinks there's an age limit on personal style- glittery nails? Too old. Long hair? Too old. Etc.

She gets muchly ignored. Grin

SqueezyCheeseWeasel · 25/06/2015 09:49

I was about to say that I hate nail art and then I saw sistersofpercy's caterpillar nails. Ace.

Sidge · 25/06/2015 09:50

I rarely have my nails done (can't have polish for work and have to keep them short and trimmed) but when I'm off I like to grow them and get them done.

For Christmas I had red sparkly nails!

I'm not a fan of blue/green/yellow nails though, they look like they belong on a dead body (sorry).

Stinkersmum · 25/06/2015 09:52

I've got a friend who does the accent nail and glitter polish at 65. Looks fan!
