to think I am not 'too old' to have nails like this

Friend today was when she saw my nails and said at 28 I was circa 10 years too old to have my nails painted like this.

Opinions please, and feel free to share picture of equally age inappropriate nails.

I don't like the signature finger thing unless it's very subtle (clear coat of very fine glitter over base colour or similar, in fact more like your middle finger). However I like glitter, like bright colours and do both in my late 40s so YADNBU. I love your blue, could you tell me what it is?

Oooh nice nails! I had a bit of a crackle thing going on last year. I was 40. As you can see, I paint my nails to match my crabs! Sadly they're all split and chewed again now

Cliffdiver the hearts are simply drawn on in red polish using a thin nail art brush. Takes a bit of practice but it's relatively straightforward, I did them myself.

What has age got to do with nail colour? My mum and I get our nails done together all the time. She is in her 60s!

I love this thread, I can spend hours on Twitter/Tumblr poring over nail art.

These are my nails at the moment. Serious re growth, they're being done again on Saturday. I'm not normally quite this glittery but it was for a special event.

Here's my nails, because of the nice weather I've even bothered with my toenails. I'm 32.

I call the different coloured nail an 'accent' nail rather than a 'signature' nail though. I like how it breaks up the regular pattern.

You're never too old for sparkly/bright/patterned nails. Though I'm another that doesn't like the different ring finger nail, that's just me and I wouldn't have it.

These are my nails, I'm 27 and they were mink with a top coat of sparkly pink yesterday.

I rarely like jazzy nails. But they're not my nails. As long as you're not a chef trailing glitter in my food it's none of my business what you choose to do with your nails.

I'm envious of all these slender fingered people. I look like I have glitter on the end of hooves when I do mine.
