Every year it seems to be the same, we have the longest day June 21 or thereabouts and you can count on one hand how many days you've actually spent not wearing a cardi, shrug, light jacket or warm fleece and have gone bare legged in sandals and a sun dress.

So far my tally is one!

We've had a couple of days away and the house is freezing. The warmest room ie the one with only 1 outside wall shows a temp of 19 which means the other rooms ie the living room is about 14 .

So with leaden grey skies outside, and a shower of rain...the heating is well and truly on.

We had something to do today that involved nice weather ...( looks up at leaden grey skies, heating on again to get rid of dank air.)

Oh well! I'm not 6 feet under the ground so today is a good day.....!

mines on again now. I feel a bit under the weather like so don't know if thats influencing my shivering

mateysmum · 23/06/2015 14:45

Sorry to tell you folks, but it's lovely in the south west again. Not boiling but wall to wall sunshine and have dried 2 loads of washing outside today. Yesterday I was in Durham, pissing it down and 12c, drove home and when we got west of Nottingham, sun came out and it was 18c.

I think the East of the country is having the cold weather, but after the floods of last year, I think it's time we had a bit of sun here. Pity we can't all have it at the same time.

DeeCayed · 23/06/2015 14:50

Lashed down yesterday for most of the day, today is cold and grey. It's df's birthday and we usually have a good couple of days to be able to have a birthday bbq but it's not looking like it'll happen anytime soon. As for the garden its a jungle out there!

PacificDogwood · 23/06/2015 16:28

Sun's shining here this afternoon, but apparently the weather is going to turn again tomorrow.
If this carries on I will not need to shave my legs all summer… Hmm

Orangeanddemons · 24/06/2015 11:23

Crikey! There's a big round orange thing in the sky. What on earth can it be?!

Momagain1 · 24/06/2015 11:52

Not here! Last day of school, and it should be bucketing down when they let out and it is expected to keep at it for the next week. DH just left on a 10 day business trip. i will go mad stuck indoors alone with DS that long.

Told DH I seriously might take DS somewhere sunny like London, for a few days!

Dowser · 24/06/2015 13:51

Great joy!

The thermometer has crept over 20 degrees here for the first time in absolutely ages.

I will kill anyone who complains it is too hot.

I was thinking about this thread today, when I had to turn on the kitchen light at 1pm, because it was so grey and gloomy here.

I look forward to summer, because the sunlight makes me happier - I know I struggle more with depression in the winter, when the days are short and dark. I need the lift that the brighter summer weather gives me, and this year I don't feel I am getting it. Sad

Dowser · 01/07/2015 08:09

No heating on here for two days now. We've got sunshine and heat with it.

How are you doing Scotland?

Evil wolf my oh bought me one of those sad lamps in February because I was so tired and dragging myself around. It did help.

You might find getting one helps you too.

Another good day promised here as well.
Yesterday got to about 26-28. That's hot enough. Thats sun dress weather.

Maybe just an hour a couple of times in the day.

They said on the radio that there was a frost in Northern Ireland last night. According to the Met Office, it is a bit unusual.

Dowser · 08/08/2015 08:31

How's everyone doing? Been in s Wales since aug 1 . First few days at least stayed dry but I went out in fleece and lightweight boots. Wednesday started off well then rained and got v chilly. Thursday got out lovely and yesterday got to 20 degrees and I'm a bit crispy with the sun.

Hope people north of the border got their share too.
