To hate the good weather

Garden noise. It goes right through me. Cackling neighbour and her chain smoking, the never ending squeak of trampoline springs from dawn to dusk, crap music being piped out from somewhere in competition with another type of crap music from a different direction, the grotty smell of bbqs.

I'm a grump. I'm an antisocial grump.

I think I need to move

OP posts:
BrittaTheNeedlesslyDefiant · 06/06/2015 13:30

I would move to Scotland in a heartbeat if I could! 11 degrees and rain sounds diviiiiiine Envy

Anything over 20 degrees fucks me right off. Too hot, too bright, too many buzzy things flying around and yes it brings all the idiots out in droves making a din. And I hate summer clothes.

StayGoldPonyBoy · 06/06/2015 13:32

I hate it. I work in a salon, it's too bloody hot cos of the hairdryers and I can't turn the air con on because it blows everyone's foils about. We always have at least 10 no shows when the sun comes out because people decide they have better things to do and can't be arsed calling. Too many people are roaming the city centre in shorts with their tops off and the beer garden opposite is full already. Can't decide if I'm annoyed or jealous because I'm stuck in work! Grin

tobysmum77 · 06/06/2015 13:39

The high today is meant to be 17 Confused

PumpkinPie2013 · 06/06/2015 13:41

I live on a quiet farm lane with only a few neighbours who are quiet (thankfully! )

However, the weather here is rubbish - cloudy and blowing an absolute gale here today! Had loads of rain the last few weeks as well Sad only bonus is our water well is overflowing!

Bought ds a sand pit today but it's too windy to play in it!!

The80sweregreat · 06/06/2015 14:04

Paige, that's me to a T. people think I am a grump because I;m not sitting outside going bright red on hot days or swooning over 'bedding plants' whatever they are! hate summer clothes as they show off my big arms.. the list goes on. Prefer it cooler, a breeze, autumn weather. Until I read this thread I really thought I was the only one not to like summer much.

dementedma · 06/06/2015 14:08

Another one freezing their tits off in Scotland. Howling wind and rain and bloody freezing. Heating is on, still wearing padded winter coat when outside. Its shit!

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 06/06/2015 14:10

East Midlands and it's sunny but cloudy, strong breeze and about 18 degrees. Perfect Grin

ReallyConfusedDotCom · 06/06/2015 14:10

Britta, I completely agree with your post. I hate the hot weather and everything it brings.

SuffolkNWhat · 06/06/2015 14:11

Heck I'll even take the black if it means no more stuffy nose, streaming eyes and constant sneezing

justtwomorechances · 06/06/2015 14:16

I'm in North East Scotland. Thursday morning driving to work, the frost alarm on my car came on. So maximim 3 degrees. In June!!!!

chipsandpeas · 06/06/2015 14:18

Move to Scotland. We have rain and 50mph wind here today.

exactly what i was going to say.....the high winds and rain woke me up this morning - good weather here is it being dry

i still have my heating on..........its fucking june.....

SoldierBear · 06/06/2015 14:27

Good weather - what good weather? High winds and rain here in East Coast Scotland.
I would love some sunshine and warmth. Being able to spend time sitting out in the garden just for starters.
Are we going to have a summer at all?

Highlandbird · 06/06/2015 14:27

Another one in Scotland with the fire on today Sad
I work outdoors and have been in full waterproofs wooly hat etc last few weeks. Last sunshine I remember seeing was a nice week in April. So fed up with it now. You can send your hot sunny weather up here for us please!!

PaigeMahoney · 06/06/2015 14:35

Mmmmmmm having the fire on. You see, I'm genuinely jealous of that. The sun just went in and I happily put my (oh so stylish) fleece back on. Whilst looking pleased. And I hate suncream. Oily, uncomfortable and you're never sure if you've covered the kids with it properly. You know where you are with a jumper.

SoldierBear · 06/06/2015 14:48

You might not be so jealous if you had to pay our heating bills.

Bigbadgeorge · 06/06/2015 14:52

Another from Scotland here, YABU!! I long for all the things you don't like. A lot.

Annunziata · 06/06/2015 14:54

I need some heat badly in Glasgow.

It was so dark yesterday morning at 10am! I had to put the big light on Shock

And I'm freezing. I am needing my Vitamins from the sun.

GooodMythicalMorning · 06/06/2015 14:57

Its bright and sunny and looks like it should be hot here but its actually freezing when you get outside

tormentil · 06/06/2015 14:58

Another one in Scotland - high winds and horizontal rain. I haven't even sat outside in the evening so far this year...

IonaNE · 06/06/2015 15:01

YABU. I am more than 60 miles south of the Scottish border, 15 degrees and galeforce winds. Last night I went to bed with a hot water bottle.

Besides, it never gets hot in England. A few years ago I climbed up to the Alhambra in Granada in August in 42 degrees. That was hot.

meglet · 06/06/2015 15:08

yabu. This isn't good weather, it's only 18 degrees here in Hampshire.

25 plus is proper nice weather..

Bunbaker · 06/06/2015 15:18

Yes. You know you are.
Living next to noisy, selfish neighbours must be hell, but to not like warm weather is weird.

This is what we are "enjoying" at the moment

To hate the good weather
cardibach · 06/06/2015 15:29

Every year there are people moaning about being too hotel here the second the temperature goes above freezing. Of course YANBU to have personal feelings about anything at all, but this does seem a bit excessive. We need the sun for both mental and physical health, not to mention growing stuff to eat, so YABU in that respect.
It's definitely not hot here, anyway (West Wales), not even by MN's very low standard.

Bunbaker · 06/06/2015 16:05

Well said cardibach

I often suspect that people who feel the heat excessively aren't taking the right steps to avoid it.

a) Wear the right clothes. I see so many women in hot weather wearing skinny jeans. IMO they are so uncomfortable in hot, sticky weather. Also, wear loose light clothes with long sleeves if you need to protect yourself from the sun. It is more effective than sunscreen. Do what the Japanese and Koreans do in the sun - use an umbrella.
b) Drink more
c) Open windows throughout the house to create a draft
d) Stay out of the sun - yes, I know that is obvious
e) This will make me unpopular - lose weight if you are overweight.

ThePinkOcelot · 06/06/2015 16:09

What good weather is this you are talking about? Cold and windy here today.
