To think 2 weetabix is a normal portion?

OH eats 4 at a time Shock

He isn't known for small portions, and then complains when I don't finish meals! Don't get me wrong I like my food, but it's just ridiculous.

Please tell me I'm not unreasonable!

I have 3 purely because I know as soon as I sit down the children swarm me as I end up probably getting about 1 1/2

Writerwannabe83 · 03/06/2015 19:50

My 14 month old has two weetabix for breakfast so I see no problem with a grown man having 4 Grin

Gileswithachainsaw · 03/06/2015 19:51

If so many are required why not just eat something that will fill you up rather than half a box of weetabix? some poached eggs have to be cheaper surely? If you really need more than 3 I think you need to switch your breakfasts Grin

I would class 2 as a normal pollution. Kids only ever got 1

Royalsighness · 03/06/2015 19:51

I used to have one but I now have one and a half, baby has the other half and my husband has 2.

Pourable cereals like Cheerios and rice krispies however are a very different story Grin

Gileswithachainsaw · 03/06/2015 19:51

normal portion

all though pollution is probably the end result Grin

Alanna1 · 03/06/2015 19:52

We're talking about Weetabix! - not chocolate!! I'm a slim size 10. I usually have 4 Weetabix for breakfast, two at a time. Two would not be enough to take me to lunchtime. And I have them with sugar because it makes it taste even nicer, and often fruit too. 2 is hardly anything for a busy grown adult!

ItsRainingInBaltimore · 03/06/2015 19:53

I think for a woman two is sufficient and 3 for a man is acceptable, four is a bit excessive, but then I fucking hate Weetabix and don't understand why anyone would even want one, never mind four.

CowGull · 03/06/2015 19:55

Giles I find it hard to stomach most foods in the morning, Weetabix is about the only thing I can manage enough of to fill me up. Normal in my family but I have encountered Shock from other people when they see me with four.

MrsMook · 03/06/2015 19:55

2 is a standard portion. If that's not enough to keep you going because the carbs are quickly processed, some extra protein would be better for filling up.

My friend used to have 6. He's not slim. Takes forever in the loo too.

sparklepopsicles · 03/06/2015 19:57

I have one. 4 seems excessive but I'm little is he a big bloke?

Alisvolatpropiis · 03/06/2015 19:59

I thought 2 was normal just because 2 is the most that fits nicely in a bowl. I couldn't be bothered to refill my cereal bowl!

Radiatorvalves · 03/06/2015 19:59

We have 2, perhaps with a banana. The boys 8&10 then have toast... Up to 3 slices. They are very skinny and fit.

msgrinch · 03/06/2015 20:00

2 is more than enough, hence it being the recommended serving, any more is just greedy.

WayneRooneysHair · 03/06/2015 20:03

I have two or three depending on how hungry I am, it's not your place to say that he can't have 4.

7amWakeUp · 03/06/2015 20:04

I have one then a piece of fruit about two hours later.

Four sounds a lot, if he needs that much I would be supplementing breakfast with something else like a banana, or have porridge/ egg instead

silverglitterpisser · 03/06/2015 20:06

Yabu, I don't really like cereal but would eat 4, 14 or 44 if I so desired n wouldn't take kindly if anyone tried to dictate portion size to me!

fatlazymummy · 03/06/2015 20:08

2 is the normal portion, but 3 or 4 isn't being greedy. People have different energy requirements and eating patterns.
Some people eat a full english breakfast every morning, other people just have a cup of tea or coffee. There seems to be more variation in breakfasts than any other meal.

LittleMissIntrovert · 03/06/2015 20:09

I don't dictate to him what he can eat, his body his choice and he wouldn't listen to me anyway

It just seems a lot to me so I was curious Grin

Surely it's up to each individual to decide Hmm?

Mine is 0 when it comes to Weetabix because I find it minging.

0 for me.

Weetabix is the devils cereal. I can't stand how mushy (like baby food) it goes within seconds of being doused in milk.

My DS however finds that very thing appealing and he has 2 Grin (aged 11).

wonkylegs · 03/06/2015 20:14

I couldn't eat one but 7yo DS puts away 4 every morning followed by a bagel. He's skinny as a rake and doesn't snack, I think it starts him for the day.

19lottie82 · 03/06/2015 20:14

I eat three usually. 2 with semi skimmed milk is only about 200 calories so not enough for a breakfast to keep you going for 4 hours +

Hassled · 03/06/2015 20:15

I'd say 2 is a standard portion, but then I'm not 6ft+ and very physically active, for example - context is everything. Is he overweight?

LittleMissIntrovert · 03/06/2015 20:18

He isn't physically active no, he sits behind a desk or is in meetings most of the day.

Like I say it's his choice it just seems a lot to me!
