OH eats 4 at a time Shock

He isn't known for small portions, and then complains when I don't finish meals! Don't get me wrong I like my food, but it's just ridiculous.

Please tell me I'm not unreasonable!

9yo skinny DS2 has 3 with SS milk. We had to buy a special large bowl to accommodate them comfortably with milk.

He then has toast afterwards.

He's in and out of the loo in seconds!

pinkstinks · 03/06/2015 20:39

2 weetabix, spread with marge and marmite and a glass of milk. Perfect.

morelikeguidelines · 03/06/2015 20:45

I always thought 2 was considered normal for an adult.

However, there is nothing wrong with having a different amount.

I sometimes only have 1 with banana, sometimes 2. I don't like them unless with banana!

My dd sometimes has 2 or even 3, she is aged 6 and is long and thin.

ASorcererIsAWizardSquared · 03/06/2015 20:50

i used to have two, and i like them, but it started giving me indigestion, so i stopped eating them :(

ThinkIveBeenHacked · 03/06/2015 20:53

Id have two but dh would have four. But id need a brew and a biscuit two/three hours later and dh wouldnt.

everyone is different

eyebags63 · 03/06/2015 20:54

Have known teenage DS to eat 6 with a PINT of milk. Shock

Moln · 03/06/2015 20:56

My skinny 8 year old has been known to eat 4. I find it disturbing!!

EmmaWoodlouse · 03/06/2015 21:11

I'd eat 2 if I was trying to lose weight but would really prefer 3.

RubyMay82 · 03/06/2015 21:11

3 standard
2 if I'm being "good"

Bloody hell I'm having one of those starving nights & this just reminded me about the box of golden syrup weetabix in the cupboard ...

NorfolkEnchance · 03/06/2015 21:16

My 10 month old frequently eats 2!

Ughh · 03/06/2015 21:20

DS (13) regularly eats 6 as a snack between meals. He has a special way of arranging them so they all fit in the bowl Grin

Purplepoodle · 03/06/2015 21:21

Ds(6) eats 3/4 with a banana and raisins - he's skinny and Iv no idea where it goes

backtowork2015 · 03/06/2015 21:38

6?! However much milk does that require? I always underestimate the milk needed for 2 and end up crunching through the last mouthful

I took a friend's two boys awaywith my singleton once, for a week to a cottage. They were obsessed by asking "how much/how many am I allowed?" about all the food I served up. I serve big portions and I love cooking for big groups. I, being the parent of one, and an only child did not understand how it is in bigger families and banned them from asking "how many/much" thinking it would go away with the huge meals we would cook and serve.

The morning came and the friend's eldest boy (aged 12 ish) came downstairs into the tiny cottage kitchen and said " can I have breakfast?". I said "of course, there are weetabix on the table, help yourself." "Where shall I sit?" he said, staring at the only table in the house. I replied that the table was appropriate- "How many am I allowed?" he asked. I growled... "just help yourself". Five minutes later I sat down with him and my cup of tea. I looked at the bowl he was eating from and watched as he took another weetabix from the pack and poured milk all over it. "How many have you had?" I asked. I looked at the pack and counted up in my head. "Is that your ninth weetabix?" I asked (almost wishing it was not true), "yes, you said help yourself so I did" was his answer.

NINE Fucking weetabix. NINE. He had eaten almost the lot. There was one each for the other two boys (aged 8) and me and my 16st husband.

For the rest of that week, even chips got counted out to make sure everyone got their fair share.

Timetoask · 03/06/2015 21:44

My 8 year old eats either 1 with a banana or 2 with a little honey and that's enough.

Notcontent · 03/06/2015 21:46

The problem with any processed cereal for breakfast is that it's refined carbohydrate and a pretty crap breakfast - so even if you have four, you are likely to be hungry an hour later.

RubyMay82 · 03/06/2015 21:49

I'm not a big milk fan but hate dry weetabix !
Place them in bowl,
Splash of milk
Flip
Splash of milk
Done ! No dry cardboard bits.

NeedsAsockamnesty · 03/06/2015 21:51

Did he put marmite on any of them?

WorldsBiggestGrotbag · 03/06/2015 21:52

I'm impressed with these babies eating 2, my 18 month old has half of one!

chandelierswinger · 03/06/2015 21:56

I'm a three weetabix person, always have been. Two just never seems enough.
DS (8) eats four at a time! He can (and often does) follow this with something else (baked beans, toast, eggs) when time permits. Fit little whippet that he is.

SargeantAngua · 03/06/2015 22:15

I used to eat 3 for breakfast when cycling to work. 2 wouldn't get me to mid morning snack! (I'm a size 8, and have been compared to a hobbit before due to my regular need for food...)

Fluffy40 · 03/06/2015 22:15

I have between one and two, but I wouldn't object to a big man eating four.

WhoisLucasHood · 03/06/2015 22:18

My 2yo can eat 2 every morning. Dh has 4 for breakfast and supper. I don't really like cereal but can only eat 1 or 2 Max.

CloserToFiftyThanTwenty · 03/06/2015 22:20

Enough with the "all cereals are cardboard crap, have an egg for breakfast" brigade!

2 is most normal, up to 4 not abnormal

TheCrowFromBelow · 03/06/2015 22:26

dS2 is 8 and has 5 with milk and piece of fruit.
If he doesn't have Weetabix he has Alpen levelled to the top of the cereal bowl with milk added bit by bit as space becomes available, or he has porridge.
The dog can eat a whole packet.
