I would certainly find dampness a most unattractive quality in a husband Wink

Sparklingbrook · 31/05/2015 21:37

'Dampness' Grin

Dowser · 31/05/2015 21:40

There's something I don't like about him that I can't put my finger on and I hate the repartee he has with Simon.

I don't find it funny. I squirm with embarrassment. It sounds like pillow talk to me !

SylvaniansKeepGettingHoovered · 31/05/2015 21:41

There is something strangely compelling about him. But it makes me cringe when he keeps on about the men looking gorgeous, the other night he said something along the lines 'I'll give you a yes if you take your tops off', it's waay OTT, overkill. It's like he's found his 'niche' so he plays it up.

DD loves his books, especially Mr Stink.

Sparklingbrook · 31/05/2015 21:42

I am struggling to summarise Arsenic.

Damp, camp, menacing, something of the night, creepy, not gay because he married a model.

wowfudge · 31/05/2015 21:44

His sexuality is his own business. So what if he is camp? It doesn't bother me: live and let live. Some of you on this thread seem to be straight out of the 70s or earlier - not happy unless you can pigeonhole someone.

Sazzle41 · 31/05/2015 21:45

The very in your face 'pretending' to be camp smacks of he doth protest too much and it comes over as OTT , creepy and inappropriate a lot of the time. Just admit you are gay, no-one will much care. I seem to remember Michael Barrymore did a lot of 'pretending' to be camp with male guests before he finally came out.

SylvaniansKeepGettingHoovered · 31/05/2015 21:48

We need to define the word 'camp' here because some people think
camp = gay

yetanotherchangename · 31/05/2015 21:53

Agree sylvanians - camp and gay are separate things.

wowfudge · 31/05/2015 21:53

Just to clarify - not bothered that he is camp, he's just very theatrical at times and sometimes that involves behaving effeminately. And whatever his sexuality is is no concern of mine. Camp does not equal gay.

OrlandoWoolf · 31/05/2015 21:53

I don't watch BGT but leering over men's bodies seems inappropriate. It would be the same for anyone leering over someone else's body.

TinklyLittleLaugh · 31/05/2015 21:54

We were trying to go for a day out the other day and I couldn't get DS to come upstairs and get dressed. I started berating him for being on his tablet and he explained he simply couldn't stop reading David Walliams "The Demon Dentist" and it was absolutely the best book ever.

His books are fab, full of love and acceptance. I find it hard to believe he's in the closet.

MamaLazarou · 31/05/2015 21:55

I would go camping with DW in a jiffy: he's yummy.

MilkThistle187 · 31/05/2015 22:03

LikeICan I would bet a large amount of money that Harry Styles is gay, poor kid can't come out because the marketing people won't let him

ssd · 31/05/2015 22:10

this thread is hilarious but still no straight answer to my question

OP posts:
trice · 31/05/2015 22:11

I find David Williams humour to be cruel and unkind. I would have assumed he was gay from his manner, I don't think that is unfair or prejudiced, he comments on men's bodies more often than women's. However I'm not bothered either way, I still don't think he is a nice guy.

EhricLovesTheBhrothers · 31/05/2015 22:16

Ssd you have had loads of answers
Gender expression is not the same as sexuality. Is that clear enough?

SylvaniansKeepGettingHoovered · 31/05/2015 22:20

I suppose the straight answer is YANBU to ask

But nobody other than David Walliams himself will be able to give you a straight answer as to why he acts camp, we can only ponder.

wwyd123 · 31/05/2015 22:20

It is because his mum let him wear princess dresses when he was 4

SmillasSenseOfSnow · 31/05/2015 22:21

Didn't he once claim to be "70% straight"?

If he did, why would that warrant a Hmm face? Perhaps he's bi, I've heard multiple bi people try to put a percentage on their straight vs. non-straightness. Or am I just reading too much into your use of an emoticon, SuburbanRhonda?

ThinkIveBeenHacked · 31/05/2015 22:25

Well Bruce Willis is as "butch" as they come and he is gay.

Some people are camp. Some are butch. Many many are somewhere in between. It isnt always linked to who they like to bump uglies with.

Mrscaindingle · 31/05/2015 22:26

Jeez I'm a bit depressed reading some of these comments as the mother of a (probably) gay teen who is quite camp.

I've known plenty of straight men who appear camp and vice versa. Who really cares in this day and age? Confused

UsedToBeAPaxmanFan · 31/05/2015 22:32

Bradley Cooper can't be gay because I definitely shagged him last night although that might have been a rather lovely dream

I couldn't care less whether DW is gay, because he gives me the creeps, but I agree with pp who said there's no need for him to hide it. Not that there should be any need in this day and age for anyone to hide their sexuality.

EhricLovesTheBhrothers · 31/05/2015 22:34

Bruce Willis is gay? Shock

If David Walliams was gay he would be gay. No harm would befall his career if he came out. So I'm going to give him the respect of believing him when he says he isn't.

Charley50 · 31/05/2015 22:34

Is Bruce Willis gay?
