I am picking my jaw up off the ground from reading some of the -absolutely ignorant and gob smackingly stupid- statements on this thread.

But when you start to ascribe negative behaviours and characteristics to a person that are not supported by evidence, then you are wondering into the realms of prejudice.

What cobblers! Anyone's allowed to dislike a person based on their observations of that person. I don't like Iain Duncan Smith. I've never met him. There's no requirement on me to undergo cross-examination on the matter. I have feelings; this is one of them.

The fact that I have a feeling about Mr Smith doesn't imply prejudice against bald white men, government ministers or people who lie about their academic qualifications. It simply means I have an adverse impression of the individual.

Based on what you said previously, I don't think you are considering the broader definitions of the word 'prejudice'. It is not limited to 'pre judging someone based on their general characteristics' (your quote).

Definitions from Oxford Dictionaries:

Preconceived opinion that is not based on reason or actual experience

Dislike, hostility, or unjust behaviour deriving from preconceived and unfounded opinions

Which is exactly what I think you are doing, when you say DW is 'creepy and horrible', 'the kind of man I wouldn't trust to pour me a drink', 'a shifty bugger' and 'he seems untrustworthy and really really gross'.

You have offered no evidence to support any of your insinuations and I'm not aware of any information in the public domain which would give credibility to your suggestions. Disliking him is one thing, but your comments and imaginings extend further than that.

Honestly, you act like there aren't videos of him being creepy and his public appearances don't involve some leery comment. He knows that if he touched women like that, there'd be an outrage btw but because he directs it at men, it's supposedly funny. It's not.

Based on the evidence of him ignoring people's discomfort at his comments and actions violating their own personal boundaries, I deduce that he is someone who ignores people's discomfort and personal boundaries. I don't trust people who ignore my discomfort and personal boundaries. Ergo I don't trust him.

But I'm sure you'll be back to explain why I'm wrong and he's a fallen angel who is personally wounded by my nasty nasty pwejudices
