Not sure if I'm overreacting.

A semi famous social media person uploaded a photo to there Instagram of them with a sellotape wrapped around their face up to their nose to resemble tubes. Making fun of the film Fault in our Stars, a film about a girl with cancer.

I said I found it disgusting to be told I shouldn't be offended because

"It's a fucking film! She didn't really have cancer! Go to bed you fucking noodle!"

Seems like its moved on, but yabu, imo. I've had cancer, and I don't find this offensive.

What is even more horrible is that Derek had to namechange a while ago because she was trolled in a most spectacularly horrible fashion by someone who pretended to be her on here.

I hope MNHQ will bear that in mind.

I've seen that sort of thing before BoW - it's usually against a poster who is, or is perceived as, 'popular'. Some people with tiny little jealous minds cannot cope with that. Tragic, but true.

Just read all this thread, I think what occurs most to me is the OP, accuses another poster of being addicted to MN ....and yet seems to have amassed an amazing amount of info about that other poster's life. Surely this suggests the OP may herself spend rather too much time here! I am on MN a lot but I didn't know half the details she posted about ...sorry Derek am evidently failing lol.

Don't know who Derek is beacuse I don't pay much attention to user names, but I am reminded of that awful show with Ricky Gervais as Derek.

Just to say, I think a lot of EatShit, and just wanted to post support for her.

I would be V worried about outing all previous NCs, because if you were interested enough to join my dots, it would out me and various completely innocent others, most of them children.
