Not sure if I'm overreacting.

A semi famous social media person uploaded a photo to there Instagram of them with a sellotape wrapped around their face up to their nose to resemble tubes. Making fun of the film Fault in our Stars, a film about a girl with cancer.

I said I found it disgusting to be told I shouldn't be offended because

"It's a fucking film! She didn't really have cancer! Go to bed you fucking noodle!"

This thread is the very definition of irony. OP finds something horrendously offensive (still don't quite get what) and because people aren't all agreeing with her, gets even more offensive.

Oh oh. I'm scared to say now but I think yabu to not see that people get offended by different things. There are people dying in their thousands in countries all over the world from preventable wars and diseases, there are politicians doing despicable things, and the media employs journalists to make funny cartoons out of it. It's just a joke. That particular joke touched a nerve with you, it probably didn't with lots of other people. If it isn't close to the knuckle, it probably isn't going to be funny. I actually think that joke is quite funny! There are probably some people with cancer who think that joke is funny in fact, it's called macabre humour!
